The Curse of Orlosh

The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy Episode 4 begins with Harbarbagar reading out the summary of her book to the hospital staff. Plowp wakes Sleech up with a sandwich prepared by him, which she likes, but as he mentions being in a relationship and everything that comes with it, she feels weird. She makes her intentions to only hook up clear.

She walks in on Klak studying Larwin. Klak suspects Sleech is in love with Plowp, and as she denies it, she begins to look more like him. She realizes she has contracted a sexually transmitted disease called Orlosh. They seek help from the machine, which produces a hologram advisor. The advisor makes it public knowledge.

The shell brought for Harbarbagar escapes, and Vlam sets out to bring her another shell. The scene switches to Klak sleeping with Azel, and they contract the disease from each other as well. Soon it is revealed that everyone in the hospital has the curse of the Orlosh.

Vlam meets with an old friend and asks for help to obtain the shell. Plowp feels insulted about how desperately Sleech wants to get rid of his features. On this note, he breaks up with her.

Later, Sleech finds out Klak slept with Azel and lashes out at her for lying. The two end up fighting. Vlam and her friend break into the security system and steal a shell. Klak meets Plowp and checks up on him. Plowp notices that Matt has developed a tail as well.

Sleech tries to revive an Orlosh to find a cure for her disease but instead ends up turning herself into one. She bites Klak and turns her into one too. Nurse Tup catches them both and declaws and defangs them. She then puts them into hamster balls and sends them away.

Vlam gives the shell she collected to Harbarbagar. Sleech has a conversation with Plowp and turns back into a human. Both apologize for their behavior. Azel contacts Klak to talk, but Klak expresses her guilt and cuts her off.

Sleech and Klak discover that Larwin is pregnant at the end of The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy Episode 4.

The Episode Review

The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy Episode 4, like every other episode on the show talks extensively about sex. A sexually transmitted disease is circulating around the hospital. It includes the development of features similar to the last partner one has slept with. The episode gives the two possible outlooks on the matter and effectively aligns the personalities of the characters to their reactions.

Klak and Plowp have a healthier outlook, the one that depicts a healthy relationship. It can be taken metaphorically, as it is the ultimate symbol of acceptance. On the other hand, we have Sleech. The series hasn’t been shy of showing her rather degenerated ideas of a relationship. In the initial episodes, the show sort of encouraged it and showed it in a good light. However, now it seems to be taking some accountability for it.
