Based on the 2017 novel of the same name, The Red Sleeve is a historical romantic drama, taking place in the 18th Century.

The story revolves around King Jeongjo and his love for Deok-Im Sung. At court he meets this free-spirited woman, who refuses to become his official concubine. However, Jeongjo’s love is pure and over time, Deok-Im starts to understand that teaming up could actually benefit the realm.

Where Can I Watch The Red Sleeve?

The Red Sleeve is available to stream on Viki, as well as both Viu and iQiyi in selected territories. It may be worth checking between all three if one doesn’t show up with this k-drama included on its roster!

For Koreans though, this is a late night tvN original and airs on Fridays and Saturdays at 10.00pm (KST)

The Red Sleeve Episodes 16 & 17 Release Date

The Red Sleeve Episodes 16 and 17 will release on 1st January 2022 at approximately 4pm (GMT)/ 8am (PT). Of course, it’s really dependent on how quickly the streaming platforms upload the content. Although it’s scheduled for both episodes to release at once, Viki only have episode 16 down to release so it could well be that both episodes are combined together.

However, do allow for some time after the scheduled time for the episode to be fully subbed too.

The subtitle team at Viki in particular can be a little slow so expect around 24 hours or so before the entire chapter is completed. However, the subtitles are more in-depth and accurate than Netflix’s. Expect a less time delay for Viu and iQiyi.
