The Mire: Millennium – Episode 6 Recap, Review, & Ending Explained

What Happens to Babe?

Episode 6 begins with Anna and Mika joining the gunfight between the cops and the criminals. After taking out the armed criminals, Babe and Anna make their way inside the house and find a room bathed in red light, filled with cameras and video recorders, which were probably used to make pornographic videos of helpless girls.

Unfortunately, while Anna is busy looking for Wanda or any relevant clues, Babe is shot and killed. Was Wanda found? Yes! Piotr manages to find Wanda and two other girls in the same truck he had snuck into earlier.

Is Filip found?

Stefan and Witold learn that Filip is a known criminal and has been on the wanted list for two years on charges of robbery, murder, and more. When the duo checks Filip’s last known address, they’re told that no one has lived in the downtrodden apartment for ages.

A passerby says that it was burned during the 90’s for insurance money. Stefan also gives Witold what he has been waiting for all these years, his letter. This suggests that Stefan may have been able to find Filip in the house. Meanwhile, when Anna questions Wanda about what happened to her, she learns a name, Albert, and she immediately recognizes him to be Filip.

When she asks her father about Albert, he refuses to tell Anna anything, saying he has made a promise to protect Filip. With the help of Mika, Anna is able to find Filip while he is trying to bury someone’s remains in the forest.

Why did Filip kill the manager?

Towards the end, it is revealed that Filip is actually the one who killed the manager. Also, the remains he was burying belonged to his mother, Viola. But why did Filip choose to kill his father? In reality, the night Viola escaped after stealing the manager’s money, she was caught at the train station.

The manager agreed to let her go without harming her if she gave him back what she had stolen. Viola agreed, but the manager went back on his word and kidnapped her. Later, he shot her and threw her body into the tar pit. When Filip asked the manager about Viola, he lied to his son, claiming Viola had gone to Paris and would return soon.

However, Filip discovered his father’s lies when Viola’s remains were found with the princess necklace that Filip had given her before she left. This was when Filip realized that his father had been lying to him all along. In anger, he boiled his father like a lobster.

Does Witold meet Else Kopeke?

Else Kopeke was Witold’s lover back in his younger days. She left a letter for him, hoping to hear back, but sadly, the letter took almost three decades to reach Witold.

The manager found the letter in his client’s room, and rather than giving it to Witold, he chose to keep it in his possession. Why? Maybe the manager thought he could get something in return, which was not surprising given his opportunistic nature.

Witold tracked the letter to a certain address, hoping to reunite with his lost love. Unfortunately, he is told by Elsa’s daughter that Elsa had died some two years ago.

The Episode Review

The ending was a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, it was satisfying to see Wanda rescued and Filip caught. However, it felt too predictable and generic, especially compared to last season’s twists and turns.

The most heartbreaking part was Babe’s death at the hands of criminals, especially since there was a budding love story between him and Kinga. It was devastating to see them robbed of the happy ending they deserved.

Similarly heartbreaking was Witold’s storyline. After receiving a letter that gave him hope of reuniting with his lost love, he instead received tragic news. It was a poignant reminder of life’s unpredictability and the bittersweet nature of hope.
