A Masterful Cat Is Good at Giving Care
Episode 3 of The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today begins with Yukichi telling viewers about Saku, the owner, who doesn’t know how to separate the trash. He is puzzled about the way Saku manages to keep a steady job despite being unable to do basic housework and being extremely sloppy. He goes on to say that if she loses her job, he may abandon her.
Later that day, Yukichi is seen doing chores such as washing and drying clothes, then repeating the process because the rain destroyed the clothes that were left outside to dry. Soon after, he spots her on television, and she thanks him for keeping an umbrella in her bag. She goes on to express her gratitude for Yukichi and he is deeply moved by this gesture.
Yukichi welcomes Saku home with a food buffet. He does this out of appreciation for her gratitude. Saku then tells him about her day over dinner. However, she is feverish the next morning but does not want to miss work. Nonetheless, Yukichi forces her to rest and takes care of her. Saku then decides to take a half-day off from work.
When she wakes up from her sleep, she realizes that the day has passed her by and that she has taken the entire day off. When she turns around, she discovers that she has been sleeping on Yukichi’s comfortable belly the entire time.
The Episode Review
The episode beautifully depicts the evolution of Yukichi and Saku’s relationship. He initially expresses his willingness to abandon Saku if she loses her job. When Saku becomes ill, he makes her stay at home and rest. He also looks after her. This episode beautifully establishes their bonding.
The episode, as well as the show as a whole, has a warm feel to it. From the color scheme to the tone and themes, this show exudes comfort and is a must-watch.
