The Lake – Season 2 Episode 4 “Wet Cup American Summer” Recap & Review

Wet Cup American Summer

Justin and Wayne spend time together at the beginning of The Lake episode 4. Following that, he seeks Wayne’s advice on his current situation. Wayne advises Justin to communicate with Riley.

At the internship, Forrest asks Billie if they can spend time at her house. Billie, however, politely turns him down. Following this, Ivy informs Billie that she could be fired.

Billie throws a party for Ivy, Forrest, and a few of the other interns to save her job. Ivy kisses Billie at the party, and things with her start to grow complicated.

Billie tells Justin that he must be certain that the arsonist was Riley before asking him. As a consequence, Justin begins to suspect others, just to be certain of his suspicions toward Riley. When Justin confronts Wayne and Victor, they both have an explanation to prove their innocence.

Meanwhile, Maisy tells Victor about her plan to secretly test Mimsy to expose her medical condition lies. As this interweaves around the main drama of the chapter, Justin questions Claire and Saggy B to find out who set the fire.

Justin begins to doubt Jayne’s innocence after the two of them persuade him that they’re not guilty. When Justin questions Jayne later, she assures him of her innocence as well.

Following all of the interrogation, Justin asks Riley if he’s the arsonist. Riley denies any involvement and informs Justin that he is leaving for Paris the following day. Riley also tells Justin that he does not wish to see him when he returns.

Maisy obtains some of Mimsy’s blood by organizing a cupping session for her. She then sends her blood to get tested. Later that night, Justin informs Maisy that Mimsy is the arsonist. He advises her to walk away to avoid ending up sad and hurt.

The Episode Review

The goal of a show like this is to entertain and amuse, and unfortunately this episode doesn’t accomplish either. The show’s problems appear far too ridiculous to be taken seriously.

The episode concludes with Justin informing Maisy that Mimsy is the arsonist, and at least on that front though, it’ll be interesting to see how things progress from here.
