Weakness
Episode 6 of The Impossible Heir continues from the attack on Tae-oh. While Tae-oh is admitted in the hospital, Hye-won arrives and feels completely disoriented as Tae-oh could have died. While barely conscious, Tae-oh tells Hye-won, “Don’t go”. Elsewhere, In-ha is with the chairman. The chairman tells In-ha to just do as he says so things between them are smooth. He also allows In-ha to marry Hye-won.
In-ha finally picks Hye-won’s call and informs the chairman about the accident. Later, In-ha decides to sweep the incident under the rug since it could harm the Kang Oh group. At the chairman’s house, the Kang brothers discuss about the incident and In-ju declines that the assault is his doing. Hee-ju rushes to the hospital after hearing about Tae-oh’s incident.
In the hospital room, Tae-oh gains consciousness and catches hold of Hye-won’s arm. It’s later revealed that In-ha and Hee-ju saw the emotional exchange between the two. In-ha briefs the chairman about the situation. In-ha later asks Hee-ju to respect Hye-won when Hee-ju says that Hye-won doesn’t love In-ha, adding fuel to fire.
At her workplace, the congressman’s aide insinuates that In-ha is behind the attack since the Kang Oh group has hushed the entire episode. This makes Hye-won suspicious of In-ha.
Tae-oh wakes up to find that the incident hasn’t been reported to the police. In-ha explains that it is to safeguard Kang Oh’s interests. After In-ha leaves, Tae-oh leaves the hospital room in the drugged state to ask for chairman’s permission in order to investigate the attack. Chairman gives him permission provided that Kang Oh doesn’t get dragged into the mess. When Tae-oh leaves, chairman calls someone and asks them to find the culprit before Tae-oh does.
Tae-oh leaves the company, manages to stumble into a taxi which drops him at the Seonu-wan’s café. Seonu takes care of him and Tae-oh tells him to find the culprit. A while later, Seonu’s restaurant worker gets Tae-oh back to the hospital room.
At In-ha’s flat, Hye-won enters into an argument with In-ha about the police report and leaves the house.
The next day after work, Hye-won’s mother show up and asks Hye-won to pay her a ridiculous amount. Hye-won threatens to slit her wrists. It’s revealed at a mysterious person asked Hye-won’s mother to put up a show in return for money. Hye-won feels cornered and frustrated. She returns home to find In-ha waiting and they reconcile owing to Hye-won’s state of mind.
Meanwhile, Seonu-wan does his magic trick and finds that In-ju’s secretary was behind Tae-oh’s attack and forwards this information to Tae-oh. Elsewhere, In-ha brings Hye-won to meet his family. Hye-won gets into a tussle with chairman by directly confronting him. In-ha later tells Hye-won to wait for the things she wants.
Tae-oh gets discharged and reaches In-ju’s nightclub. He confronts his secretary and asks him to relay that Tae-oh is going to get revenge on In-ju. Tae-oh leaves the nightclub and reaches his and Hye-won’s meeting place. They reminisce about the past. The two basically confess their love to each other. Tae-oh impulsively kisses Hye-won but she pushes him back only to give in later. At the same time, In-ju’s secretary captures the two and sends the image to In-ju.
The next day, Tae-oh goes to work and receives a document with In-ju’s suspicious investment details. The scene cuts to Hye-won and In-ha’s wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, Hye-won leaves to go to her room when In-ju threatens her with the photograph of her and Tae-oh’s kiss in the elevator.
The scene cuts to Tae-oh waking up. His shirt bloodstained and carrying a murder weapon. In-ju and another woman lie in the same room in a pool of blood. The episode ends with this scene which featured in episode 1 of the show.
The Episode Review
This episode was probably the best up until now. The show finally came to the point. There are so many questions but the most important of all – what’s up with the ending scene! I’m pretty sure In-ha and the chairman are in cahoots and everything is In-ha’s masterplan. His character is clearly assuming the same dark and shrewd role that we met In-ha in the beginning of the show, when In-ha used to bully Tae-oh. He might also be the one who pushed Hye-won with her mother’s arrival so she is unable to leave him.
The scene where Tae-oh is drugged leaving the company office is so well done! The camera work portrays his mental state really well. One of the loopholes that I found was that if In-ju’s secretary was following In-ha, how did he miss Tae-oh’s mastercard – the hacker?
The romance arc is a bit wonky but, now, it finally serves a purpose in the plot since the stakes are high – everybody is trying to play the conspiracy game now which is quite exciting. Who will outwit who? How will Tae-oh escape from the mess he is in? We are excited to find out, are you? Stay tuned for our next recap of The Impossible Heir!

Still hate the love triangle
It doesn’t make sense
All it does and will do is put a wedge in their (inha and taeoh) partnership which was built before she even had screentime in episode 1.
Sure the plot is very solid with All the tricks, the plans, the upstaging, but the romance kills it.
It brings no purpose to the storyline (till this episode, but i doubt the reason would be dumb in the next ep)
And at it’s core i just hate tragic love stories
No freaking way that this whole show would end with none of them is dead and the other is mentally scarred..
