The Gold Season 1 Episode 3 Preview: Release Date, Time & Where To Watch

The Gold Season 1 Episode 3

The Gold is a drama from BBC based on the real-life heist that shocked the UK back in November of 1983. Six masked men broke into the Brink’s-Mat security depot near London’s Heathrow Airport and inadvertently stumbled across gold bullion worth £26m. This was a huge stroke of luck and the coincidence resulted in the world’s biggest heist in value terms back then. Dominic Cooper, Hugh Bonneville, Charlotte Spencer, and Sean Harris are some of the big names from the large ensemble cast.

The Gold was originally released back in February of this year with all the episodes still available to stream on the network’s digital streaming platform. However, that optionality is only with our readers in the UK. The Gold made its international debut on Paramount’s digital streaming platform last Sunday.

Here is everything you need to know about The Gold Season 1 Episode 3, including its release date, time and where you can watch this.

Where Can I Watch The Gold?

The Gold will be exclusively available to stream on Paramount+ and watch with the cable network on Paramount. As revealed above, The Gold’s international release comes months after its debut in the UK on BBC. As of now, there isn’t much information about the order of release of episodes on Paramount’s different platforms. But expect the release to be simultaneous as part of the group’s efforts to popularize its streaming platform.

The Gold Season 1 Episode 3 Release Date

The Gold Season 1 Episode 3 will be released on Sunday, September 24, at 9 pm ET/PT. Expect the runtime to be roughly 51 minutes or even more. After the doubleheader on its first viewing, post which, the show has chosen to go with a weekly release schedule. The new episode of The Gold is titled “The Consequences are Mine.”

The episode will be available to stream on Paramount+ with subtitles. Quite interestingly, Paramount has decided that for its viewers outside the US, the entire show will be made available to stream in one go. However, the US will stick to a weekly release after the opening doubleheader.

How Many Episodes Will The Gold Have?

The Gold’s Season 1 will run for a total of 6 episodes. So, after episode 3, we will have another 3 episodes to go that will follow a weekly release schedule, subject to any changes Paramount+ might make in between. We do not expect there to be any major scheduling interruptions.

What happened in Episodes 1 & 2?

The Gold’s story in episodes 1 & 2 focuses on the event of the Brink’s-Mat heist that took place in 1983 at the depot near Heathrow Airport. Brian Boyce was put in command of a special task force to hunt down the gold and apprehend the robbers. Scotland Year DIs Jennings and Brightwell were also roped in to assist on the task force. Six robbers changed the course of history in a matter of minutes and stole nearly 26 million worth of gold bullion.

The robbers take the help of frequent gold trader Kenneth Noye to move the gold back into the market. That is the only way it is worth any money to them. Noye further employs the help of his associates, primarily gold merchant John Palmer, who is tasked with smelting the pure gold into impure alloys to ensure it moves undetected. Boyce and his task force face an uphill task as Noye and his conspirators move aggressively to convert gold into money.

To take it from that stage, Noye seeks help from Gordon Parry and Edwyn Cooper. These men start buying properties in and around the London area and then move the money into Swiss accounts where the trail cannot be traced.

Boyce’s task force is not able to make significant inroads in the first two episodes. They are trying to get their hooks in place and pounce on any mistakes that the robbers make in their operations.
