What Happened In Episode 9?
The Fire Hunter Season 2 Episode 9 picks up where Episode 8 left off with a fallbeast confronting Touko and Kanata. Akira believes the fallbeast wants Touko to hunt it. Mizore and Temari rush toward the fallbeast and attack it alongside Touko and Kanata. Touko beheads the creature with her sickle and Hibari questions if Touko is the true lord of the fire hunters.
After the battle, the Flickering Flame asks Akira if she plans to hunt her. Akira tells the Flickering Flame she’ll hunt her when she leaves Kira’s body. Suddenly, something strikes the divine palace. Hibari asks Touko to accompany him somewhere. He says the real Tayurahime would like to see her.
Touko finds herself in a strange domain with Temari and Kanata at her side. Hibari is present in the area and informs Touko about what happened to Mizore and the others. Additionally, he explains what’s happening to the godly individuals nearby. After conversing with Hibari, Touko wakes up in a failed experimental facility.
She regroups with Akira, Koushi, Kiri, and the others. Later, she notices several tubes and Koushi realizes there are baby deities stored within each tube. Then, Koushi notices Akira’s gone and asks Kiri what happened to Akira. Kiri tells him Akira left earlier. Koushi believes she’s heading toward Tayurahime’s true location.
This entices him, Touko, and Kanata to use the same pathway to reach her. During their stroll, Koushi realizes the divine clans rely on humans for survival. The episode closes with Akira confronting someone and their white canine.
