The Dangers In My Heart – Season 2 Episode 10 Recap & Review

Karte 22: I Want To Be Closer To Yamada

Episode 10 of The Dangers In My Heart Season 2 starts with Kyotaro arriving at school. He informs the audience that the new school year has begun. Moeko greets and tells Kyotaro that she and him are in the same class. Kyotaro checks the posting nearby to see if he and Yamada are in the same class together.

Before Kyotaro gives the posting a thorough look, Yamada texts and informs him that she’s in her new classroom. Additionally, she didn’t check to see if Kyotaro would be in the same classroom as her. Kyotaro enters Yamada’s classroom, signaling to her that they’ll be attending class together. However, she diverts her attention to another classmate to avoid attention from the other students.

Kyotaro takes a seat somewhere and wonders if it’d be best if he and Yamada distanced themselves from each other. Moeko greets Yamada and tries to start some drama. Kyotaro intervenes and Yamada spots Sekine and greets her. Sekine reveals she’ll be attending the same class as them. They all cheer and notice Chihiro sulking in the distance.

Chihiro’s worried she was held back a year because she couldn’t find her name on the list. Chihiro and the others visit a staff member and he confirms she will be attending the same class as Yamada and the others. The staff member apologizes for forgetting to put her name on the posting, causing Chihiro to throw a mild tangent.

The four girls return to class and greet other students. Meanwhile, Yamada drops Kyotaro a note, asking him to hang out with her later. Then, we see a teacher introduce themselves to Kyotaro and the others. Later, Kyotaro visits Adachi, who is upset that he’s not in the same class as Kyotaro and the others.

After class, Yamada wanders over to Kyotaro’s desk and hands him a wallet chain as a late birthday gift. Before they discuss more, Moeko and two other girls named Kanna and Hanzawa enter the classroom. While they’re chatting about Yamada and Kyotaro’s possible relationship, Kyotaro and Yamada hide inside their teacher’s podium.

Moeko asks Kanna if she has a problem with that being the case. Kanna says she’d like to throw the two a celebration party if they are a couple. Moeko contemplates this idea and believes it’d be stellar. When the three depart, Yamada asks Kyotaro if they’re going out. Kyotaro tries to leave but fails. Moeko returns to the classroom and notices Yamada and Kyotaro are in an embarrassing situation.

Later, Kyotaro, Adachi, and the others go for a stroll. Adachi asks Kyotaro several provocative questions and Kyotaro tells him he’s glad the others are jealous of him being in class 1. Kanzaki interrupts the two and tells Kyotaro he’s in class 1 too. However, he snuck off to class 2 to see Hara. Meanwhile, Yamada stalks Kyotaro and the others.

Kanzaki tells Kyotaro that it must feel great being in a class with Yamada. This catches Adachi’s attention, so Kyotaro tells him he and Yamada are good friends. He doesn’t want Adachi to discover his true feelings for Yamada. After some quick health check-ups at the nurse’s office, Yamada spots Kyotaro and tries peeking at his results.

The two argue briefly and this catches Kanna’s attention. Kanna asks the two if they’re in a significant relationship. Kyotaro says they aren’t and reminds Kanna about their teachers’ (Moriya) advice on chatting with people they normally wouldn’t converse with. Kanna believes Kyotaro and turns her attention to Yamada.

Kanna says she’d like to know Yamada more and Yamada starts touching Kanna’s hair. Yamada asks her if she can call her Kanna. Hanzawa arrives and stops Yamada from caressing Kanna’s hair. She tells Yamada she calls her Kanna. Chihiro clears the air between the two and Yamada tells Kanna she’ll refer to her as Panda.

Later, Yamada encounters Kyotaro in the library. Kyotaro tells Yamada he’s gotten taller. Yamada asks Kyotaro if he’d like to note their height changes somewhere in the library. She promises to use a washable marker. After jotting down Kyotaro’s height, Kyotaro proceeds to do the same with Yamada.

He notices Yamada noted her nickname for him next to his height, causing Kyotaro to blush. While marking Yamada’s height down, Yamada tells Kyotaro that his voice sounds different. Yamada notices Kyotaro wrote “Anna” next to her height, causing her to blush and twirl toward the library’s blinds.

Kyotaro tells Yamada he’d like to have a physical connection with Yamada. Yamada grabs Kyotaro. Before Kyotaro can tell Yamada how he feels, Hanzawa interrupts them. Yamada pulls the blinds back and asks Kyotaro to tell her what he is about to say to her. Hanzawa pulls the blinds, drops her books, and departs.

Yamada grabs Hanzawa’s book and tells Kyotaro she’ll bring it to her. In class, Kyotaro’s mildly concerned about Hanzawa. However, he feels she’s not the type of person who’ll rat on them. After learning Yamada will be sitting next to him in class, Kyotaro performs an embarrassing stunt in front of Kanna and Yamada during class.

He passes Yamada a note, apologizing for his actions. Later, Kyotaro informs the audience Yamada left early. Kyotaro notices a note sticking out of Hanzawa’s book and reads it. In the letter, Yamada wants to tell Hanzawa that she and Kyotaro are close friends and aren’t dating. Kyotaro reads ahead but stops.

Kyotaro enters the library the following day and spots Hanzawa chatting with Yamada. Hanzawa apologizes to Yamada and tells her she wants to know what love is like. Hanzawa questions if what she and Ando did to the former couple was the right move to make. Kyotaro wanders past the two. Hanzawa senses tension in the room and tries to leave.

Yamada asks Hanzawa to add her on LINE. Additionally, she promises to inform her about romance. This embarrasses Hanzawa, enticing her to leave. The chapter closes with Kyotaro telling Yamada she shouldn’t get too close to people.

The Episode Review

With a new school year, comes new challenges for our two lovebirds to endure. Nonetheless, the tension between Yamada and Kyotaro remains unchanged. From the height marking sequence in the library to Kyotaro reading Yamada’s note to Hanzawa, this series will certainly leave fans smiling and giggling throughout this chapter’s multiple events.

Unfortunately, these class changes come with a few caveats. It appears Adachi and several other students may be taking a backseat in favor of these new classmates. While Adachi can be a handful sometimes, he’s shown some redeemable and likable feats in season two. Hopefully, we’ll get to see his character grow more in a future season if one happens.

Regarding the new characters, it was nice seeing our current cast mingle with them. Although the episode doesn’t give us a lot of information about Kanna and Hanzawa, it’s possible a future season could flesh them out more. Overall, this was another brilliant showcase from The Dangers In My Heart Season 2. We’re edging closer to that long-awaited confession scene and I can’t help but get excited.
