The Buccaneers Season 1 Episode 4 Preview: Release Date, Time & Where To Watch

The Buccaneers Season 1 Episode 4

The Buccaneers is currently available to watch on Apple TV+. The period drama has been adapted by Katherine Jenkins from Edith Wharton’s unfinished final novel of the same name.

Early reviews of the first three episodes have remarked that the series is underscored by strong feminist ideas. But the presentation is quite modern, bringing a nice variety to the period setting of the 1870s British aristocracy.

The official plot summary released by Apple TV+ reads, “Girls with money, men with power. New money, old secrets. A group of fun-loving young American girls explode into the tightly corseted London season of the 1870s, kicking off an Anglo-American culture clash as the land of the stiff upper lip is infiltrated by a refreshing disregard for centuries of tradition. Sent to secure husbands and titles, the buccaneers’ hearts are set on much more than that, and saying “I do” is just the beginning.”

We will be covering the series with episodic recaps and previews for new ones on the site. Be sure to check them out!

What happened in Episodes 1,2, and 3?

The tripleheader of The Buccaneers introduced us to the central story. The show’s plot is set in the 1870s and revolves around five American best friends. Lizzy, Mabel, Conchita, Nan, and Jinny are daughters of affluent parents. Their dream is to land a smart chap from British nobility. In search of prospective husbands, the girls also intend to discover themselves, living a different kind of life in England.

Conchita’s love marriage with Lord Richard runs into troubles as his family has a hard time accepting her. Conchita’s outspoken and chaotic personality is found to be undesirable by them. Things get competitive as the girls are invited to London to the Queen’s Debutante Balle, where they will have an opportunity to be handpicked by prospective suitors.

Nan is the only one who has no wish to get married but inadvertently catches the attention of Theo, the Duke of Tintagel, who is the most eligible bachelor in England. She also strikes up a friendship with Guy Thwarte, who turns out to be Theo’s best friend in episode 3.

Nan gets worried as her marriage with Theo might be in troubled waters due to her being born out of wedlock and her introduction to Guy.
