The Boys Presents: Diabolical – Episode 6 “Nubian VS Nubian” Recap & Review

Nubian VS Nubian

Episode 6 of The Boys Presents: Diabolical begins 8 years ago with a hero called Nubian Prince showing up and stopping Groundhawk from robbing a bank. The pair fight, trading blows outside, until Nubia, Queen of Thunder, shows up and works with her fellow Nubian to stop the enemy.

This happens to be the start of the pair’s whirlwind romance, as we cut forward to the present day.The pair have an 8 year old girl together but their sweet romance has turned sour, full of anger and resentment toward one another. Unfortunately, they even fight in front of their daughter, Maya.

While they try to explain what’s happening, Maya asks whether they’re going to get aa divorce or not. While Nubia Prince says no, Nubia is 100% onboard with this.

Maya realizes she needs to do something so she heads off to find Groundhawk at his house. All of this is a ploy to bring him back into the fight, believing that in doing so it’ll fix her parents’ marriage. It seems to work too, at least for a little while, as the pair get along like a house on fire.

After killing Groundhawk and leaving him in a bloody heap, the pair head home and wind up making love – much to Maya’s annoyance.

In the morning though nothing has changed. So Maya slams down the divorce papers and tells them to sign. Oh, and she’s going to get that pony she’s been promised too.

The Episode Review

The latest episode of The Boys: Diabolical works really well to show that sometimes two people just should not be together. It’s particularly tough to watch these two bickering and fighting in front of their daughter too, who eventually has enough and decides they should just break up.

To be honest, this is definitely the right move and staying together solely for kids is never a good idea. It’s just a shame that Groundhawk happened to be collateral damage for this message to get through to the two Nubians. However, this is a much improved episode over the previous chapter, which seems to be a blip compared to the rest of this series.
