In the Heat Of
Episode 5 of The Baxters begins with Kari returning to her house only to find that Tim has been waiting for her. Tim states that he has now realized that he has made a mistake, and wants to make efforts to save their marriage. However, Tim drives away after seeing Jack and Kari together. Kari goes inside and notices that Tim has even fixed her grandmother’s chair.
Elsewhere, Ashley runs into Brandon outside the mall. Brandon is a firefighter, and it appears that Brandon and Ashley might have a history together. Erica, Ashley’s friend, also invited him into her house so Ashley and Brandon could catch up and fix the air conditioner. Brandon fixes the air conditioner and, as payment asks Ashley to play him a song.
Kira goes to her mother’s house and reveals that she’s pregnant and has also kissed Ryan while they’re out fishing. Kira is now confused and lost and doesn’t know whether she should give her marriage a chance or just accept defeat and move on. Kira also requests her mother to keep her pregnancy news a secret.
As the episode goes on, Tim turns to a bar and drowns himself in alcohol. Kari finds him, thanks to Carolyn Bailey, and asks to come home. Kari sits beside him, and Tim apologizes for ruining everything they held dear. You deserve better, Tim says to Kari. She also accepts that it was wrong of her to spend the day with Ryan and offers to repair their marriage for themselves and their baby, no matter what it takes. Tim agrees and returns home with his wife, Kari.
The Episode Review
It takes a lot for someone to admit their mistakes and try to put themselves back on the right path. This is exactly what Tim seems to be attempting. He realized that having an affair with another woman, despite being married to someone as special and caring as Kari, was his biggest mistake. So, we might expect to see him breaking up with Angela in the upcoming episodes.
Things are bound to get complicated between Ryan and Kari as well. Just imagine how Ryan will feel when the love of his life tells him, just a day after they kissed, that she’s getting back together with her husband.
