The Atypical Family Episode 12 Spoilers – Will there be a happy ending for Gwi-ju and Da-hae?

The Atypical Family

The Atypical Family, the latest weekend K-drama, centers on Bok Gwi-Joo and his family, who belong to an established line of superhumans with unique powers. Bok Gwi-Joo can travel back in time, but only to happy moments in his own life. He can’t change the past; he can only observe these happy moments. When Gwi-Joo becomes depressed, he loses his powers.

His family also loses their own powers due to modern-day issues like insomnia, obesity, and smartphone addiction. One day, Do Da-Hae gets involved with Bok Gwi-Joo and his family. As she lives with them, the Bok family notices changes in their powers. Will they be able to reclaim their abilities?

The Atypical Family Episode 12 [Spoilers] – What to Expect?

In episode 11 of The Atypical Family, we discovered that Gwi-ju’s powers have mysteriously mutated once more. He now bears the scar on his neck that Da-hae’s saviour had during the school fire incident. This hints that Gwi-ju might be destined to die while saving Da-hae.

In the next episode, it appears that things between Ji-han and Dong-hee haven’t quite ended. From the last episode, we know that Ji-han recorded Dong-hee flying on his cellphone. Considering he says he has a “surprise” for her in the preview for the next episode, and Dong-hee mentions in one of the scenes, “This is my chance to change the future,” it’s possible that Ji-han might threaten the Bok family with the recorded footage of Dong-hee flying.

It’s clear that Gwi-ju will be returning to the past to save Da-hae. He wears the black leather jacket and will likely revisit his happier moments with Da-hae. Remember when Da-hae saw Gwi-ju’s future version looking sad while they were searching for I-na? This scene might finally occur in the upcoming episode.

As the stakes rise with Gwi-ju’s impending visit to the past, the next episode is bound to be tense. It’s uncertain if Man-heum’s precognitive dream will come true, especially because Da-hae repeatedly emphasized in episode 11 that her dreams can be interpreted differently. There is hope that the show might still have a happy ending, given that Man-heum’s dream about Gwi-ju’s death is incomplete and vague.
