What Happened In Episode 10?
In The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 Episode 10, Maomao and Xiaolan discuss the recent suicide case for a bit. Then, Maomao returns to the Jade Pavilion and realizes they’re setting up a tea party between Lady Gyokuyou and Lishu. Maomao learns Lishu has a distaste for honey and helps her avoid harassment from her ladies-in-waiting.
Afterwards, Jinshi asks Maomao to visit the Garnet Pavilion to handle tasks there. Maomao explores the pavilion and analyzes everyone from Lady Ah-Duo to her head lady-in-waiting Fengming. She reports her findings to Jinshi and believes Fengming is a person worth keeping an eye on. After conjuring a theory, she meets with Lishu to discuss her “honey” problem and connection to Fengming.
Later, Gaoshun takes Maomao to the court library so she can research the rear palace’s history. Maomao gathers more details about Ah-Duo’s pregnancy and her relationship with the current emperor. After realizing her adoptive father is responsible for helping Ah-Duo give birth, the episode closes with her pondering this discovery.
