The Accident (2024) – Season 1 Episode 7 Recap & Review

Episode 7

Episode 7 begins with Alex and Charro heading to the Lobos’. However, Alex is trying to stop Charro from killing Lucia. Charro snaps back that he is the one who is hurt and in pain and someone needs to pay. A stoned Lucia sees them and she hides. Her pet dog, Gol is fidgety and she tries to make a run for it. Charro chases her while Alex tries to stop him. He gets in front of Charro’s car and his father declares that he has lost his family and leaves.

At the station, Daniela is frantic as Emiliano wants a full sentence and Lucia has not been picking up her calls. Ulises tries to comfort her as he constantly shares that he cares for her and wants to help her. When Daniela’s car breaks down, he insists on giving her a ride home.

Once they reach, Daniela is shocked to see that Lucia is gone and most of her things are missing. Ulises hugs her and then tries to kiss her. She tries to stop him but he claims that he has always loved her.

Meanwhile, Javier tries to knock some sense into Emiliano. He claims that he should fight for his loved ones otherwise everyone will be affected by the consequences. At that moment, we see Yola telling Carla everything. But she spins it in a way that it seems Emiliano threatened Moncho into taking the deal. Nearby, Charro’s right-hand man, Peyote watches them.

As for Alex, he rushes home and packs his things. Lupita watches him and helps him take some money from Charro’s safe which he promises to pay back. She doesn’t want him to go but he is tired of having Charro as his father. He hugs her and leaves.

The American investors also catch wind of Emiliano’s arrest and announce that they are coming to Santa Cruz to assess the situation. David and Javier lie that Emiliano has been wrongfully arrested and after the call is cut David tries to get in touch with Carla to not publish the story.

But she ignores his calls as she is busy drafting the Yola exclusive. She believes it is the best story of her career since it is full of drama, unlike Paula’s miracle story. But when she leaves, Peyote kidnaps her.

Elsewhere, Charro and his lawyer discuss how to evade the Jalisco cops who have heard of his son’s arrest. Lupita tells him to bring Alex back but he could care less. We see that Alex and Lucia have run away and hide in one of his family’s estates. There they end up hooking up. 

Meanwhile, Roxana sees the news about Paula’s miracle while she is at work. However, Fabian tells Paula not to talk about the Virgin Mary at school. She wonders why he doesn’t believe her and he has no answer for her. Instead, he tells the people outside to leave as the crowd increases. Roxana finally arrives and he is relieved to see her.

Another estranged couple interaction takes place with Javier and Brenda fighting as she still doesn’t understand why he is defending Emiliano. He claims that he is looking out for them as they will be bankrupt if the investors sue them for Emiliano’s accident. She is upset that he is not on his side and cannot understand her pain.

As she walks off, she accidentally breaks Mateo’s puzzle. She drinks with Mauricio and they both agree that one can never get over the pain. She asks if he is up for another child and they hook up. But she returns home to see that Javier has stayed up all night and pieced back Mateo’s puzzle. 

A desperate Daniela continues to search for Lucia as she even checks in with Nico and Salome. She calls again and this time when Lucia picks up, she hears Alex’s voice before Lucia cuts the call. Daniela tells Emiliano about Lucia running away with Alex and he gets worried. He tries to call her, begging her to return and then he calls Javier.

Then there’s Charro who has Clara brought to the same hotel room where David and Lupita had hooked up. He calls David and threatens to assault her and is amused when he learns Clara is pregnant. He suggests a different outcome and Clara is confused by the whole interaction. The investors arrive to see that David has brought Charro on board to replace Emiliano. 

At the end of The Accident Episode 7, Alex and Lucia plan to leave for USA. At that moment, Daniela puts out an Amber Alert on both of them. She is surprised to see Emiliano home as he reveals that he is out on bail to find Lucia. Daniela shares that she doesn’t need his help and he sees Ulises in their kitchen.

The Episode Review

Wow, everyone is messed up in this Netflix show but that somehow makes the drama and the conflicts even more intriguing. While we thought Alex had suddenly become the bad guy, we see in The Accident Episode 7 that he simply needed time to process everything before he tried to stop his father from killing Lucia. But we do wonder what game Lupita is playing, letting Alex leave and then asking Charro to bring him back. 

And who else thought Charro was going to ask David to give him his unborn son? But the 40-million deal sounds like a pretty decent exchange as well. The new characters are messy as well with Ulises latching himself on to Daniela while Roxana only agrees to see her child after she realises that she is famous.

All of this is well and good but it is dragging away from the plot that was set in the first half of the show with the death of the 3 kids and Moncho with Yola and Brenda getting sidelined… In fact, this second plotline could have worked better as a Season 2.
