Episode 3
Episode 3 of The Accident begins with Paula drowning in the river. It cuts to Fabian and Daniela finding her near a Virgin Mary statue and rushing to the hospital.
Carla and Yola end up at the station and are shocked to learn that Moncho is dead. At the same time, Barroso gets paid and leaves the city. The cops look into him and learn that his real name is Eulogio Pinto Rosales but that’s it. This makes everyone at the birthday party a suspect. Except for Emiliano, everyone is glad Moncho is dead. However, Santos believes that Emiliano is hiding something which makes him the prime suspect.
Meanwhile, Alex tells Lucia not to take drugs anymore but she wants to forget everything. She kisses him before leaving and he smiles. Later, while she hangs out with Salome, she is accosted by her ex, Nico who is trying to get back with her after cheating on her. Instead, she hangs out with Alex but when she reveals she is going to drink with Salome, he tries to stop her. She feels like he is controlling her and he apologises.
As for his parents, Charro is excited that Moncho is dead but it seems that he did not order the hit. While Lupita is happy that her son has been avenged, she still cannot move on and continues to visit him at his grave and sleep in his room. This annoys Charro and he tries to reminisce about their dating era by trying to sleep with her.
When she refuses, he tries to force himself on her. Alex stops him which further infuriates Charro. Alex blames him for Gabito’s death as they had to move to Santa Cruz because Charro had to hide. To distract Charro, Lupita kisses him and takes him away.
Meanwhile, Fabian and Daniela are relieved to hear Paula will live. Paula asks about Rodrigo and a teary-eyed Emiliano promises that he will visit her soon. When she is taken home, the press surrounds her as they ask about her experience. She claims to have seen the Virgin Mary which surprises Fabian. She finally gets her hand on her iPad and cries upon learning that her friends are dead.
Elsewhere, Lucia cannot get over Emiliano mourning Moncho and believes her father is too good of a man. She goes on about how Moncho deserves it for killing kids and he will probably be in hell which has Emiliano feeling worse. David is curious about the murder and even asks Emiliano if he called the hit but he refuses.
Meanwhile, Yola confronts the Lobos for destroying her family and again does it at the police station where she singles out Daniela in front of all her friends. This has Lucia curious as to why Yola insists that Emiliano killed Moncho. Mauricio and Charro wonder about Moncho’s murder as well. We learn that Horacio was Mauricio’s contact and Charro is adamant that the actual murder was not his doing.
As they all regroup, Daniela cries once she finds out Carla is pregnant. It cuts to Brenda trying to kill herself. However, she realises that she is still a mother and wants another child. Javier refuses and she declares she will have one regardless.
Moncho’s funeral takes place and Emiliano and David are the only ones who attend. Yola is furious and tells Emiliano that the only reason she hasn’t exposed him is due to his promise to send her and her kids to USA. Nearby, David notices Lupita visiting Gabito’s grave and he gives her company. He sees the bruise on her face and suggests that he would never hurt her.
He and Emiliano head to the firm as the investors transfer the first 5 million. Javier is excited but the celebrations are put on hold as Emiliano wants to back out. Javier doesn’t understand and ends up fighting with Emiliano who calls him out for being cold-hearted.
Overwhelmed by all the events, Emiliano goes to church. The priest says the truth will set him free and at the end of The Accident Episode 3, Emiliano tells Daniela everything.
The Episode Review
The Accident Episode 3 raises the stakes even higher as we get another death amidst the already tragic incident. There is also Brenda’s self-harm plus the drama between Emiliano and Javier, and Charro and his family. There is also the mystery behind the drug case and Paula claiming that she saw the Virgin Mary. We also wonder if Nico has something to do with Lucia or if he is no consequence to the main plot.
But right now, what has our attention is Moncho’s murder. Charro claims that the obvious suspect is never the killer. So, if it is indeed not him, then who is it? He also has no reason to lie to Lupita who has been wanting to kill Moncho since the accident. For now, our money is on David who seems a little too diplomatic with everyone. It wouldn’t be out of character for him to distrust Emiliano and take matters into his own hands.
