Terror Tuesday: Extreme – Episode 2 “Wedding Dress” Recap & Review

Wedding Dress

Terror Tuesday: Extreme episode 2 begins with a woman making a wedding dress. However, she ends up getting a needle right through her finger and if you’re squeamish, good luck. We see that needle go right through and back out again.

Our protagonist here is Milk, who shows up at a wedding dress shop to work. She’s tasked with fixing up old wedding dresses, but the place is incredibly dusty and worn. The sewing machine there is one such relic but there’s also a whole bunch of creepy mannequins in the storage area.

At the very top, there’s a bedroom for her to stay in and she has the whole floor to herself. It’s pretty sparse and there’s definitely something creepy about this place. Even worse, the previous owner, Nuch, decides she’s going to Phuket for five days so Milk’s got the place to herself alongside all the mannequins. Oh, goodie.

There’s something not quite right about this place, especially as a strange, creepy woman appears to be following Milk around. There’s also the case of random wedding dresses appearing on mannequins, and Milk lashing out at customers and badmouthing them for no reason.

Milk is forced into fixing up a wedding dress for a customer, which results in late nights working. She’s also been trying on random wedding dresses and forgetting details of her night, including letting her partner Bank into the shop to have sex with her. That night, as they talk, Bank explains that he doesn’t want to get married, believing that it’s all for show and fake, with much more important things to spend money on. This results in a big fight, and Bank leaving Milk in tears.

After this fight, Milk finds herself slipping further into this crazed state, finding it hard to distinguish fact from fiction. In fact, she ends up downing a whole bunch of diet pills and makes the wedding dress smaller, not bigger. When the customer returns and puts the dress on, it tightens on its own and chokes her.

Nuch, the woman who left the shop for her, rings and learns of the trouble Milk has been going through. She urges her to get out, knowing who this strange haunted woman is. She’s called Peet and it turns out she’s been on-and-off possessing Milk. She killed Bank the night they had their fight. We then see the wedding dress is just floating in the air with ghostly laughter.

So what happened with Peet? Flashbacks unveil more here as it turns out Peet is the former assistant at the dress shop to Nuch. She laments that she’ll never get to wear a dress given her weight, so she ends up getting surgery to reduce down her body fat. In the wake of this, she also becomes addicted to diet pills, and ends up vomiting.

Peet is clearly bulimic and constantly sees herself in the mirror as the person she once was. Despite losing so much weight, she deteriorates further. Nuch ends up ripping Peet’s favourite dress and while being choked, Nuch grabs the scissors and stabs her assistant in the neck.

Now we return to the present, where a possessed Peet stabs Nuch in the neck as a way of repaying the favour. This is, of course, Milk and we see her here in a final scene as she wears her wedding dress and marries a deceased Bank, who is propped up. Not sure where the camera flashes are coming from though, so there is that!

The Episode Review

Terror Tuesday sets off with another episode, this one honing in on the wedding dress ghost. The chapter does well thematically to show the horrors of bulimia and how one can become obsessed with their weight if they’re not careful. There’s also a slight nod toward overworking and stress, all wrapped up in this ghost tale.

There’s not really anything here that’s particularly scary though (unless you count the questionable effects of just having that dress float in the air) and the ending is a bit lackadaisical too. However, there’s enough here to enjoy all the same.
