Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya Plot Summary
After finding no luck in romance, Robotics Engineer Aaryan Agnihotri takes a trip to the USA to meet his aunt. Aaryan is trying to escape his family who is forcing him to get married. Meanwhile, Aaryan’s aunt, Urmila, who is also his boss asks him to hang out with her assistant – Sifra while she goes on a work trip to Belgium. Aaryan is shocked when he first sees Sifra and ends up falling in love with her.
However, he is gobsmacked after Aunt Urmila tells him that Sifra is a human-like, high-functioning robot. Urmila reveals that her team had programmed Sifra in a way that she could clone a human being, wherein she could pretend to eat food and also have sexual relations with their administrator.
What does Aaryan do to bring Sifra to India?
Despite learning the truth about Sifra being a robot, Aaryan is not able to interact with her. While still moping over his feelings for her, Aaryan decides to get married to a different girl. On his engagement night, Aaryan flees from his family home in Delhi. He goes to Mumbai and convinces Aunt Urmila to send Sifra to India.
Aaryan states that they needed to see if Sifra was competent enough to live in India if Urmila’s company wanted to make robots accessible to Indians. Urmila agrees and sends Sifra to India. Instead of testing Sifra in his office, Aaryan takes her to meet his family in Delhi.
How does Urmila react to Aaryan’s decision?
Aaryan introduces Sifra as his girlfriend and his family is delighted to see her. He lies to them about Sifra’s family and claims that she is an orphan with no family of her own. Aunt Urmila tries to tell her sister, Sharmila, the truth about Sifra but Aaryan stops his aunt from telling the truth to his mother.
Aaryan claims that he was just testing to see if Sifra could pass off as a human. Meanwhile, the Agnihotri family is happy with Aaryan’s choice and decides to get him married to Sifra.
What happens after Sifra malfunctions?
After all the pre-wedding ceremonies take place hassle-free, Aaryan is excited to marry Sifra. At the same time, Aunt Urmila shows up to stop Aaryan’s antics and take Sifra back to the States with her. On the night of the wedding ceremony, Sifra starts malfunctioning due to a short circuit while she is charging.
Sifra ends up leaving the house to perform all the “cancelled” tasks that were given to her by Aaryan’s family. Due to her malfunction, Sifra ends up filing a police complaint for a stolen tomato, pushing off the neighbour from the rooftop, and dancing to a sensual song in front of the entire family – which were all tasks she was asked to perform jokingly.
Do Aaryan and Sifra end up together?
Aaryan tries to stop Sifra but since she no longer can be controlled by her system, she tries to complete the last cancelled task she was asked to perform. Sifra tries to “burn the state of Delhi” to the ground – a task she was asked to perform in jest. Aaryan tries to power Sifra off but fails to do so.
Sifra starts by setting fire to the wedding venue and pushes Aaryan’s grandfather aside as she tries to exit the venue to set the rest of the city on fire. Aaryan steps in before Sifra can go any further and punches Sifra to power her off, stopping her from causing any more chaos.
How does Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya end?
Six months after the incident of Sifra’s malfunction, Aunt Urmila is finally releasing an upgraded version of Sifra along with other robots created by her company. At the launch event, Aaryan, who is trying to overcome his feelings for Sifra meets a woman named Riya and chats with her. He is happily surprised to see how Riya’s perspective on romance coincides with him. Aaryan agrees to go out on a date with her.
However, his friend points out that despite being a robot, Sifra was getting jealous of his interaction with Riya. Aaryan states that this was impossible as Aunt Urmila had erased every memory of him from Sifra’s system. The film ends with Aaryan looking at Sifra, confused, as she looks back at him and smiles.
