Episode 10

Sunset X Vibes Episode 10 brings us back to Lin’s dream of Sidarin and Sun comforts him as he cries. From the car, Sun admits that he’s texting with Lin’s grandfather who’s worrying about Lin’s lack of sleep. He sends Grandpa a sweet selfie of them now that Lin is feeling better.

Later, in a secret meeting, Sam gives Sun evidence he collected on his trip, including invoices that don’t seem to be correct. Afterwards, Sun joins the board meeting where Chan gets him up to speed on the complaints about him. He notes that he’s doing some investigations of fraud and also that he’s made a connection with a diamond mine owner. He explains his extra budget in the design department and asks everyone to wait and see the new designs, asking an uncomfortable Kaew to take care of things for them.

On a break, the interns worry about not having enough time to come up with new designs within the next 2 days. They decide to use a previous design and send a second one if they can up with another idea in time. They head to Yo’s family restaurant and find Sam there ‘helping his boyfriend’s mother’ but the other interns are not surprised at all, having been waiting for them to make things official.

At Sun’s house, Lin works on design ideas for the world jewelry event, but it doesn’t seem to be quite right. They take a break to play snooker so Lin can relax his mind, but it’s not so relaxing as Sun works on his form. Even though he doesn’t hit the pocket, Sun rewards him, starting with sweet kisses down his back. The two quickly make use of the snooker table and then move to the bedroom.

But as soon as Lin sleeps, he dreams of Sidarin. She gives her love a necklace and is later thrown into the cave by him. The dream inspires him with a jewelry design and he gets to work as Sun sleeps.

The next day, Sun tells his mother that he’s bringing someone home. Lin worries but Sun tells him that he peeked at the design he was drawing and needs to show him something at the family house.

After dining with Sun’s mother, she thanks Lin for this work on the Amaraporn project. Then Sun gets to the point – he’d like his mother to show Lin a painting. It’s Lord Phaya Suriyen, one she’d had painted. Seeing it brings back the dream wherein Sun plays the part of Lord Suriyen, relegating Sidarin to being a ‘nice sister’ to him. While the woman Suriyen loved broke their engagement.  Even so, Suriyen says he can’t love Sidarin. She mistakenly kills Lord Suriyen’s love, her own sister, resulting in her incarsaration in the cave.

When he wakes from the vision, Lin is suddenly inspired and asks to sit and work by the painting. When he shows it to Sun and his mother, both agree that it’s a powerful piece. Sun shows him a cased gem he’d like to use when they make the necklace, even if Lin doesn’t win the world jewelry competition.

After a bit of wine and still fully dressed, Sun coaxes Lin into the pool even though he’s a little afraid of water. But as Sun removes his shirt, Lin changes his mind, joining him for some romance.

The Episode Review

We finally see the whole of Lin’s dream and that as Sidarin, his heart was with Sun’s past incarnation as Lord Suriyen. So there’s some destiny in this story. But there was another person in the picture back then, Sidarin’s sister whom Lord Suriyen loved while she, in turn, loved another. So even though Sun and Lin are now affianced, who knows what’s coming for them next. Suriyen’s past love? Or Suriyen’s fiance’s lover?

This week’s episode was somehow oddly stilted with the only real chemistry between the leads during their more romantic moments. Their interactions with others seemed a little awkward. But perhaps Sun’s mother is scarier than I’m crediting her.

In other pairings, Sam and Yo take a step too. But when their friends find out they’re dating, they are not in the least surprised. Sam is a sweetheart, as ever, helping where he can. I’m certain this won’t be his last drama.

But the other big revelation is that while it seems like all Sun does is follow Lin around, he’s actually been investigating suspicious doings at the company and turned up a bit of fraud. It sounds like more than the invoice incident he’d solved a few episodes back. It seems like Kaew is involved – think she’ll fess up before it’s too late? With Sam helping Sun and suddenly seeming a lot more capable, they should have the insider issues sorted out shortly. Convenient, as we’ve only got 2 eps left.
