Break into the stronghold

Reach the control room

Shut down the turrets

Secure the cryochamber

Deliver the origin strand to the throne room

Head on down to Ashiga Clan District and meet with Ank and Qi’ra. After entering the underground chamber, watch the cutscene and you’ll gain 1x Quest Item: Ank’s Explosive.

Squeeze through the gap in the ice and follow the linear passage.

Break into the stronghold

To get into the stronghold, there’s another long platforming section, this one in the ice caves. There’s lots of grapple points and heading along the cliff walls but keep following the path along.

After, you’ll have to time your jumps over some fans and continue working your way vertically up.

When you get near the top, you’ll notice a large fan that won’t stop blowing air. In order to shut it down, send Nix across to the other side of the platforms, open up the vents and destroy the generator inside.

Next, head over to the wall, place the explosives and back off to allow Ank to detonate it and blow a hole into the stronghold.

Infiltrate the stronghold

Inside, be prepared to fight a solitary guard before proceeding along the linear pathway. It’s nigh-on impossible to get lost here, but at the end of the hallway, climb up the metal grates, then inside the vents.

Eventually, you’ll make it through to the other side.

Reach the control room

When you drop into this new area, you’ll have a large playground to work with. Stay crouched and work your way through.

It’s up to you how you tackle this, but to make things quicker, use Nix to detonate the charges right in front of you. Then, stay crouched and head round to the right of the room.

Although the guards will be on high-alert, thanks to the terrible AI (honestly, it really is bad in this game) there’s a door on the right hand side you can hide inside, right next to the alarm.

As the guards will be on the other side of the room, shut off the alarm and head inside this little storage room until the alert level drops. From this new position, you can then pick off the guards a lot more effectively.

Alternatively, just go in all-guns blazing. As long as the alarm isn’t triggered, it won’t make you restart this area. When you’re ready, approach the control room and use the Dataspike to open it up.

Shut down the turrets

Loot the immediate area and then take out the guard below. Next, shoot the yellow generator to knock out the energy barrier above.

Now, use Nix to drop down the ladder so you can access the higher level.

At the top, look directly above you for another generator to shut off. Jump back down and to the right of the energy barrier doorway, climb up and around the room. When you make it onto the higher walkway, look directly across from you and you’ll find a vent that can be opened.

Use Nix to open the vent and shoot the generator inside. With all of this done, access the Computer Terminal inside.

Leave the area

Turn back and head out the room. With the alarms going off, be prepared to fight off a good number of guards. Don’t camp in one spot though as there are explosive spider droids that will explode on impact when they get near you. Target these guys first and if need be, use your melee to gain the upper-hand.

Once all the attackers are dead, simply follow your waypoint through the facility until you reach the Cryochamber. It’s a linear path, that will take you deeper into the complex. It’s hard to miss.

Secure the cryochamber

Work your way around the facility, killing the enemies that show up. Given its circular nature, it’s quite easy to work your way around and pick off all the guards.

When they’re dead, approach the inner-chamber and activate the console to gain 1x Quest Item: Origin Strand.

Deliver the origin strand to the throne room

With the origin strand in hand, head out via the orange snowy door on the side. Approach the wall on the east side, climb up and head through the vents.

Head across the courtyard and approach the Queen. Then we’ll have another decision to make. Here are your options and the consequences of said options:

  • Give The Strand to Krisk – Your reputation with the Crimson Dawn will increase/ Ashiga Clan will see no change.
  • Give The Strand to the Queen – Reputation with Ashiga Clan will increase /Crimson Dawn will go down.

Based on this, the better option is obviously Krisk, especially if you want to work on the Reputation System an get the best outcome. Either way, Ank will join the crew regardless of your choice here and it’ll wrap up this set of missions.
