Spy x Family is the latest anime to hit the early season catalogue and what a wild ride it’s been! Corrupt politicians, warmongering forces and nationalists are the dishes of the day, as our story whisks us off to the neighbouring countries of Ostania and Westalis.
In the middle of all this, the story revolves around a spy called Loid, off on an undercover mission who ends up getting married and adopting a child as part of his cover. Interestingly, his wife and daughter have secrets of their own.
For one Yor is an underground assassin known as the “Thorn Princess” while Anya is actually an esper that can read peoples’ minds. They have no plans to disclose their secrets either. It’s an intriguing set-up and one that works surprisingly well.

Where Can I Watch Spy x Family?
Spy x Family is available to stream on Crunchyroll outside of Asian territories. At the time of writing, there are no plans for this show to reach Hulu or Prime. However, if you’re reading this in an Asian territory, the show is available weekly on Netflix.
Do check both Crunchyroll and Netflix though as which platform this is on will differ depending on where you are in the world!

Spy x Family Season 1 Episode 8 will release on Saturday 28th May at approximately 4.30pm (GMT) / 8.30am (PT) / 10.30am (CT). Of course, it’s really dependent on how quickly the various platforms upload new episodes. Expect this to be pretty close to the release time though.
Spy x Family is not available with the dubbing from release so expect the native Japanese tongue with subtitles (which, let’s face it, is the absolute essential way to watch this one!)
