Special Ops: Lioness Season 1 Episode 8 Preview: Release Date, Time & Where To Watch

Special Ops: Lioness Season 1 Episode 8

Taylor Sheridan is back with another promising offering with Paramount Pictures. The filmmaker has had a successful stint with the giants of the industry with his most recent success being Tulsa King.

This new show has a star-studded cast that includes Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, and Michael Kelly, among others.

In terms of plot, the official tagline from Paramount is as follows:

“A female Marine is tasked with befriending the daughter of a suspected terrorist who is being surveilled by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.

Expect to see elements of espionage and a lot of covert military action in the storytelling. Sheridan’s presence at the helm of the project also means that the viewers will get emotionally invested in the characters.

Here is everything you need to know about Special Ops: Lioness Season 1 Episode 8, including the release date, time and where you can watch this show.

Where can I watch Special Ops: Lioness?

Special Ops: Lioness will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount Plus, the official streaming platform for Paramount Pictures. Viewers in the US, UK, Australia, Italy, Nordics, and Canada can watch the show on the streaming service (with a subscription) but we aren’t sure if the show will be available to watch for our Asian readers.

US viewers should be able to watch the first two episodes on TV but the remaining episodes will shift exclusively to the streaming service.

Special Ops: Lioness Season 1 Episode 8 Release Date

Special Ops: Lioness Episode 8 will be released on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 12 am (PT)/3 am (ET). The series was all set to get its global premiere at the Directors Guild Theatre on 18 July. But the red-carpet premiere was cancelled in lieu of the SAG-AFTRA strike that comes as a double whammy to big Hollywood studios after the writers’ strike started in May.

Episode 8 will be available to stream with subtitles. The new episode is titled “Gone is the Illusion of Order.”

This episode will most probably be set entirely in Mallorca with some fleeting moments that focus on Amrohi. Since the terrorist won’t be attending the wedding, it remains to be seen if he will indeed be eliminated with a missile strike, as Kaitlyn suggested in episode 7.

How many episodes will Special Ops: Lioness have?

Special Ops: Lioness’ season 1 has been commissioned for a total of 8 episodes. The eighth episode will be the final chapter in season 1. The status of a second season remains unknown at the moment.

What happened in Episode 7?

Our fears about Cruz’s attraction to Aaliyah came true in episode 7. The two women finally decide to act on their feelings and have sex in a hotel room. Kyle, who had been asked by Joe to follow her, reports to Joe about this development.

Joe and Byron are busy making calls to their resources in and around Mallorca – where Aaliyah’s wedding will take place – since they decide not to go through the proper channels.

Joe immediately takes a flight to New York from Virginia to talk to Cruz in person. Cruz is heartbroken after sleeping with Aaliyah as she knows she will have to betray her.

Joe sits Cruz down and explains to her the significance of her mission. She also assuages Cruz about her feelings, which are totally normal in the context. Joe’s maturity and professionalism are reflected in her words, which seem to settle Cruz for now.

When Cruz returns to the room, Aaliyah apologizes to her. She also lets her know that Amrophi, her father, will not be present at the wedding. He will stay back in Riyadh. She also says that she cannot cancel the wedding. Cruz realizes she has no future with Aaliyah and Joe is right.

The plan changes as the entire Lioness team, with Kaitlyn, travels to Barcelona in preparation for the wedding. Joe tries to nail Amrohi’s importance in Cruz’s head by showing her footage of all the terrorist attacks he has bankrolled over the years.

  1. My husband and I – being Zoe Saldana fans – started watching LIONESS and fell in love with it. EVERY SINGLE PERSON holds their own. OH! That team. Episode 2 HOOKED US (if you haven’t seen it, please watch it but watch Episode 1 FIRST; we rewatched it half-a-dozen times and we’ve never looked back. Nicole Kidman has never been better.

The show seamlessly dovetails the sacrifices that families make in service to their country and feels so fresh and authentic, especially, and ironically, when they steal a bit of romance in a bid to keep their family together, in spite of challenges.

As to the development between Cruz and Aaliyah, it’s perfectly natural. You have two young women both in their own way, starving for affection, for love, for tenderness and in Aaliyah’s case – certainly her last chance at being loved. It was still heartbreaking.

I can’t wait for each new episode. The HUBS has forbidden me to watch new episodes without him. BUT… I rewatch them by myself after we’ve watched together. This is undoubtedly the best, most gritty, exciting new show to emerge from Paramount+ and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH LIONESS.

  2. I hope to see Cruz and Aaliyah ending together …but I know Aaliyah learning the truth about Cruz will be heartbroken and this eventually will lead to a season 2 of the show
In season 2 (at the end) Aaliyah will forgive Cruz and they will be together having many happy events
🤓🤓that’s what I wish but let’s wait and see the end
