Skull Island – Season 1 Episode 1 Recap & Review

Maritime Pilot

In Skull Island episode 1, a girl is seen running on a ship as everyone tries to catch her in the opening scene. She eventually escapes the ship shortly after an intense chase sequence. She then uses a speedboat and makes her way away from all the chaos.

In the heart of the South Pacific, Charlie is sailing with his dad Cap in search of information regarding fabled creatures. Since their ship appears to have been going around for a while, he seems to be at odds with his dad over his interest in going to college.

According to his dad, those attending college are not known, but those who make important discoveries have over time gained notoriety. The kid wants to study instead of that life, though. When Charlie and Mike speak, we learn that Mike truly enjoys the journey and is interested in purchasing a new vessel.

Charlie spots the girl in the ocean whilst standing by the deck and saves her. The girl awakens to find men surrounding her. Cap introduces his kid Charlie, friends Hiro, and Mike, as well as himself and his family. They give her coffee, but because she hasn’t had it before, she thinks it’s quite terrible. The girl then acknowledges that she ran away from a boat.

Shortly after, a group of men on the vessel are under attack. Meanwhile, the girl introduces herself to Charlie as Annie. Charlie goes on to explain that their mission is to find unusual creatures. Charlie claims that he along with his team are using charging cryptids to find the mysterious beings. Thereafter, Annie asserts that a sea monster is to blame for the boat’s collapse.

The bad men with masks target their boat. When one of the men attempts to murder Boomer, a large tentacle quickly drags him into the water. Thereafter, their boat is attacked by a massive Kraken squid creature.

Cap is instructed by Annie to depart and head to her island in order to save his kid from the tentacle beast. Thereafter, the ship is completely destroyed despite the crew’s best efforts to scratch the enormous squid.

In the water, Cap discovers something even brighter and more enigmatic. Annie helps him when he has trouble breathing. Meanwhile, Charlie and Mike arrive at a small island.

The Episode Review

The show presents a Monsterverse-based American animated adventure series. Skull Island Episode 1’s opening has a sense of mystery. The basic idea then becomes clear to us. The show’s foundation, though, doesn’t seem to be that strong. This might change, though.

Charlie and Mike arrive at an island as the episode comes to an end. It will be interesting to see what transpires in the upcoming episodes given that the adventure will start on the island.
