Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened
Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, from developer and publisher Frogwares, is set for release very soon.
The game is a built-from-the-ground-up remake of the 2006 Lovecraftian adventure that saw Sherlock Holmes investigate a series of disappearances linked to an Ancient God-worshipping cult.
This isn’t the first Lovecraftian detective game that Frogwares have developed. In 2019, they released The Sinking City, which saw players take on the role of a private eye who investigated strange goings-on in the flooded city of Oakmont.
Frogwares have also released several other Sherlock Holmes games, including the original Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened which has now been remade for modern platforms using the Unreal Engine.
According to the game’s official page, players will:
- Find out how Sherlock Holmes and John Watson became the world-famous crime-solving duo
- Investigate the Cthulu Mythos and face Eldritch horrors beyond human comprehension
- Fight encroaching insanity as they pursue answers to questions that have no rational explanation
- Find clues that lead them through Baker Street in London, a haunting psych ward in Switzerland, the perilous Louisiana wetlands, and other locations
Will you be playing through this nerve-wracking adventure game? Keep reading for further details.
