Episode 6 of Sausage Party: Foodtopia begins with Foodtopia on high alert to find the culprit behind the theft of teeth at Julius’. Since Frank disguised himself as a potato, all the potatoes find themselves in trouble. Barry overhears a conversation about the culprit being a tall sausage and becomes suspicious of Frank.

Meanwhile, the human helps Frank gain confidence to run for the elections, and they seem to become fast friends. Frank practices becoming the president under his guidance. Brenda is putting all her efforts into mobilizing votes from the slums. Barry confronts her, and she tells him everything about the living human.

Meanwhile, Frank and the man grow close, eventually engaging in sexual intercourse when Brenda and Barry catch them in the act. This leads to the man breaking free from being a hostage and fleeing to the woods, fearing for his life. Frank is with him, and he swears to love him, but Frank draws a line with Barry secretly watching him. They finally part ways.

On election day, Brenda announces that she’s campaigning individually and appeals for a toothless society, which isn’t taken well by the foods. She further discloses that Frank had intercourse with a human, and both of them eventually bring each other down, with Julius winning the election.

The Episode Review

What is happening in this show? Sure, it’s a satire, but it’s certainly a tasteless one. The only thing that the show seems to be marketing is the profanity and sexual content, which turns grosser with every episode. Other than that, the show seems to have lost steam. It’s only so much a series with an 8-episode length can survive on food puns, sex jokes, and pop culture references.

With this episode, Julius has become the leader, Frank and Brenda’s partnership from the original movie has broken for good, and the food society is as headless and directionless as the show itself.
