Sakamoto Days Chapter 177 Recap & Review

Kindaka

Chapter 177 of Sakamoto Days begins with Kindaka getting out of bed. Kindaka can’t believe he’s been in a coma for eight years. He asks Nagumo what happened to Slur, Akao, and Sakamoto. Nagumo informs Kindaka about what happened to them and himself. He hands Kindaka a bill and tells him to pay him back when he can. 

Nagumo leaves and Kindaka looks up some assassin gigs on his phone. He notices a listing for Sakamoto and wants to tackle that mission. He doesn’t know this is the Sakamoto he knew in the past. Meanwhile, we see Sakamoto, Heisuke, and Shin jogging somewhere. They’re unsure if this will help them prepare for their future fight with The Order. 

Then, Kindaka appears. Sakamoto calls out to Kindaka. Kindaka doesn’t know how Sakamoto knows his name but compliments him for his intel-gathering skills. Sakamoto warns Shin and Heisuke to keep their eyes on Kindaka. Kindaka sends Sakamoto flying into a nearby store. Shin attempts to use his powers to stop Kindaka. 

Unfortunately, Shin misses. Kindaka appears behind Shin and Heisuke and throws them into two different objects. Sakamoto rejoins the fight and tries telling Kindaka that he’s the Sakamoto Kindaka knew in the past. Kindaka doesn’t believe him. Sakamoto understands and promises to teach Kindaka that he’s the real deal.

Sakamoto and Kindaka continue fighting. Eventually, Kindaka realizes Sakamoto’s telling the truth and apologizes. Sakamoto introduces Heisuke and Shin to Kindaka and explains what they’re doing.

The chapter ends with Sakamoto telling Shin he wants Kindaka to be their master. 

The Chapter Review

Kindaka’s back in the fold. As many predicted, Kindaka will be helping Sakamoto, Shin, Heisuke, and others prepare for their future confrontation with The Order. As always, Yuto Suzuki finds a way to turn a complete misunderstanding into a throwdown between skilled martial artists. From colliding with nearby cars to fighting atop vehicles on a highway, this chapter will certainly get fans’ hearts racing.

Additionally, this chapter contains some fine comedy. All of this could’ve been easily avoided if Nagumo properly explained Sakamoto’s situation to Kindaka. Yet, he chose not to. Regardless, we hope no bystanders got hurt in the clash between these men. Next, some fans may have their gripes on Kindaka’s overwhelming strength. 

Despite being a notable figure in the Sakamoto Days universe, Kindaka’s actions in this chapter may not vibe well with everyone. The same can be said for folks who wanted to see Sakamoto overwhelm Kindaka in his obese state. Nevertheless, this funny, action-packed chapter should keep fans entertained until the next chapter is released.
