‘RoboCop: Rogue City’ Release Date, Platforms & Game Length

RoboCop: Rogue City

Serve the public. Protect the innocent. Uphold the law. This was the mission statement of the original 1987 movie!

If you have ever imagined yourself as the part human/part machine cop and have walked around your living room spouting the now-famous line “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me” to your friends and family (let’s hope they understood the reference), you’ll be glad to know that a first-person video game, developed by Teyon (Terminator: Resistance), is on the way featuring the uncompromising robotic police officer.

Official synopsis (source)

“Become the iconic part man, part machine, all cop hero as you attempt to bring justice to the dangerous, crime-ridden streets of Old Detroit.

Armed with your trusty Auto-9, factory-built strength, years of experience on the force and a variety of tools at your disposal, you will fight forces seeking to destroy the city you call home in an all-new first-person, explosive hunt for the truth. You have the power to decide how to fulfil prime directives in your own way, but as the story unfolds proceed with caution because corruption and greed know no limits.

RoboCop is a classic sci-fi action-adventure and one of Hollywood’s most iconic film franchises of all time. First released in 1987, the franchise continues to resonate with audiences around the world today.”

  • Complete objectives according to your own sense of justice

Is RoboCop: Rogue City single-player or multiplayer?

RoboCop: Rogue City is listed as a single-player game so we don’t expect to see any multiplayer modes at launch.

Considering the developer’s last title, Terminator: Resistance, had no multiplayer components, we think it unlikely that DLC featuring cooperative or competitive gameplay will be released down the line.

Will RoboCop: Rogue City have achievements?

Yes! You can find a full list of RoboCop: Rogue City achievements here

Will RoboCop: Rogue City have any DLC?

RoboCop: Rogue City is being released in two editions at launch: Standard and Deluxe.

The Deluxe Edition, also known as the Alex Murphy Edition, will include a bundle of exciting perks, including “an exclusive RoboCop DLC costume that mirrors the battle-worn armour from the original film, a digital artbook, as well as access to the OCP Shotgun and the Prototype iteration of the Auto-9 weapon.” (source)

According to the developer’s website, there are more treats in store for those who pre-order the game. These bonuses come in the form of the Vanguard DLC pack and include the iconic blue armour from Robocop 2 and a pitch-black variant of the Auto-9 weapon.

Other DLC might be released post-launch but we have no information on this at the time of writing.

How long is RoboCop: Rogue City?

According to information found online, the game’s campaign will last between 20-30 hours. A longer playthrough can be expected if you complete all the side missions attached to the main game.

  1. Thanks for commenting Bobby. I played their Terminator game too and it was much better than some critics said at the time. Here’s hoping Robocop is as good if not better!

  2. I recently played Teyon’s, Terminator: Resistance. I enjoyed every second of the game, and now I can see they have improved significantly based on what I have seen of RoboCop: Rogue City so far. The demo has ignited my interest. Already pre-ordered for Xbox Series X. I cannot wait for November 2nd.
