Road House Plot Summary

Dalton is an ex-UFC fighter approached by a woman called Frankie, who runs a Road House in the Florida Keys and asks for his help to clean the place up after experiencing a wave of troubling behaviour. Dalton accepts the offer and turns up in the Florida Keys. He must deal with a violent biker gang, as well as a local corrupt businessman called Brandt who wants to muscle in on the Road House. This leads Dalton to discover a hidden agenda, and he must square off against a brutal fighter called Knox in order to save the area from corruption.

What happens after the brawl at the Road House?

Knox badly injures Dalton, which leads to his decision to leave town. On his way out of the Florida Keys, he notices Charlie’s bookstore has been burned down, which enrages him and leads him to seek revenge on Brandt. He kills Brandt’s henchman Vince and steals Brandt’s money. But Brandt is one step ahead and has kidnapped his love interest, Ellie.

Ellie’s father, the corrupt sheriff, asks for Dalton’s help in finding his daughter. So they confront Brandt on his luxury boat, with Dalton refusing to hand over the stolen money, and a violent showdown ensues, with Dalton creating an explosion.

What happens back at the Road House?

Brandt heads towards the Road House in his boat with the aim of destroying it. But Dalton chases after Brandt and confronts him. The fight is interrupted by Knox, who turns up at the scene and engages in a brutal fight with Dalton. Knox stabs Dalton with a sharp piece of wood, and Brandt tells Knox to finish him off, but Knox turns on him and kills Brandt instead. Knox approaches Dalton to finish him off, but he fights back and stabs Knox repeatedly.

How does Road House end?

The sheriff turns up at the scene and tells Dalton to leave town, saying he’ll cover for him. Frankie cleans up the damage left at the Road House.

Elsewhere, Charlie and her father are dealing with the aftermath of the bookstore fire, when Charlie spots Dalton, who is about to depart on a Greyhound bus. He says goodbye to her and leaves town. After his departure, Charlie’s father spots a bag of money left for them by Dalton in the bookstore.

The movie ends with the revelation that Knox survived his injuries and is in the hospital causing havoc by refusing treatment. He is seen leaving the hospital wearing a loosely fitting hospital gown.
