Has Young Royals Been Renewed For Season 3?

Young Royals is a Swedish teen drama from Netflix. Season 2 was recently released and after that cliffhanger ending, there is only one question to ask. Has Netflix renewed or cancelled the show? Here is what we know:

What is Young Royals about?

Young Royals is a show that follows the life of a young Swedish Crown Prince, Wilhelm who joins Hillerska Boarding School and falls in love with Simon. Their romance is sadly plied with different challenges and Wilhelm’s duty as the future king of Sweden threatens to end it all.

Has Young Royals been renewed for season 3?

Netflix has officially confirmed that the royals will be returning for a third season. Diehard fans of the show are already asking and begging online for the third season.

Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.

What we know about season 3 so far:

At the moment, we know nothing but it is safe to say that based on the cliffhanger we are likely to get a third season. Last time, we had to wait for almost eighteen months before getting a new season because of Covid-19. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait so long for the third season and we will know what will happen to August and what that direct stare from Wilhelm meant.

We can probably expect to find this one mid-2023 and it will probably maintain its six-episode structure.

Season 3 might just be the WilMon endgame era and we are crossing our fingers that Netflix won’t disappoint us!

  3. Waiting for season 3. Young Royals is an amazing serie. The OST by Matti Bye is the best I heard in decades! My wish? Wilhelm and Simon stay together in a public romance with August becaming their best friend! And, of course, with the Royal Family very proud about that!

  4. I like Young Royal season one and season two and i m waiting for season three. I love the storyline and actor’s acting was soo good. All over it’s great series.

    August just doesn’t know how to convey his emotions and get things right with people but deep down he is sweet

  9. The show us awesome and very well written and the actors are extraordinary. So emotional that it brings up long lost feelings from my youth. I hope to see a season 3 where the boys find there way to a happy ending.

  16. Watch with my 14 year old daughter and we cry together every time…..just finished 5th round tonight!!!! Reminds me exactly of my first love!

  17. This show is so good I can’t get enough there has to be a third season hell and a fourth one two the drama is surreal and the connection between the prince and Simon is so romantic

  18. Young Royals is an amazingly well written series, touching on sensitive and passionate topics. The cast does an amazing job as the writers.
