Has Woori the Virgin been renewed for Season 2? Here’s what we know:

Renewed Or Cancelled?

Woori The Virgin is the latest Korean remake, this time taking the concept of Jane The Virgin and adding a unique Asian flair and influence.

If you’ve been following this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled.

What is Woori The Virgin Season 1 about?

The story centers on Oh Woo-Ri, who works as an assistant writer for a popular drama series. Despite dating, she wants to keep her virginity until she marries.

When Woo-Ri goes to the OB-GYN for a check-up, a doctor’s mistake sees her artificially inseminating and, unfortunately, pregnant! The biological father is Raphael, the CEO of a cosmetics company. As one may expect, drama ensues!

We have extensive coverage of Woori The Virgin across the site, including ongoing recaps for all 14 episodes. Feel free to check them out HERE!

Has Woori The Virgin been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, SBS have not renewed Woori The Virgin for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.

The ratings began with a 4.1% share nationwide but since then, the show has been hovering around a 3.6% share. The series has been emulating the US version in terms of story beats, and reaction – both critically and from audiences – has been pretty split.

However, given most k-dramas wrap up their stories in a single season, it’s very rare to find these sort of shows renewed. Given the lukewarm reception to this remake, we predict Woori The Virgin will not be renewed.

We’ll be sure to update this section with more details as they become available.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Most Korean dramas are reserved to one season and with the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.

However, there is always the possibility that the actors return for a follow-up, especially as the US version, Jane the Virgin, ran for multiple seasons. There would certainly be scope to expand.

We generally aim to update this page when more information becomes available.
