Renewed Or Cancelled?
The Law Cafe is the latest mid-week drama and it’s certainly been a hit with fans. There’s some great romance and drama, as well as lovable characters too.
If you’ve been following this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Well, wonder no more! Here’s what we know about a renewal:
What is The Law Cafe Season 1 about?
The Law Cafe revolves around friends that have been close for 17 years since they attended Seoyeon High. Jung-Ho is a landlord and used to be called “Monster Genius” of the prosecution. He’s a cool guy with a mysterious charm.
Meanwhile, Yu-Ri is an eccentric lawyer who won the past “Miss Korea” contest for her looks. However, she ended up quitting the firm and starting a law café of her own. When she enquires about a contract from her landlord, she soon learns her old buddy Jung-Ho is the landlord! What are the odds, eh? Naturally, a crazy relationship develops from friendship to love.
Has The Law Cafe been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, KBS2 have not renewed The Law Cafe for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.
The ratings began with a 7.1% share nationwide but since then, the show has been pretty steady at around 6.2% averagely.
Given that most Korean dramas only run for a single season, and the ratings aren’t lighting the early week schedule up, we predict The Law Cafe will not be renewed.

What we know about season 2 so far:
Most Korean dramas are reserved to one season, as detailed above, and with the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.
However, there is always the possibility that the actors return for a follow-up for a sequel or a spin-off featuring the same characters. But based on everything we’ve seen, we don’t think The Law Cafe will be renewed.
