Nevertheless is a polarizing JTBC Korean drama, streaming weekly on Netflix. Generally each episode can be found on the streaming giants shortly after broadcast, with the hard-working subtitle team translating quickly.

This 12 episode drama has been quite the slow burn, releasing one episode a week every Saturday and revolving around a realistic depiction of romance for young people.

What is Nevertheless Season 1 about?

Nevertheless tells the story of two people who are attracted to each other but skeptical about love. Na-Bi is a quiet university student, studying art and sculpting. She takes a fancy to Jae-Eon, a confident and toxic guy who ends up romantically linked with Na-Bi.

There are several other subplots interwoven around this, including a well-written same sex pairing of Sol and Ji-Wan.

Has Nevertheless been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, JTBC has not renewed Nevertheless for season 2. Given the steady decline in ratings over the weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.

The ratings began with a respectable 2.207% nationwide but has been steadily declining with each passing week. The most recent episode (episode 9) saw that drop to 0.8%. Based on this, and the slow pacing of the show, we predict that Nevertheless will not be renewed.

What we know about season 2 so far

Most Korean dramas are reserved to one season and with the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.

  4. I am new to KDramas, but I love the chemistry between Na Bi and Jae on. I would love to see a second season to see if she rejects staying with him or realizes that Do was a better fit. Why do we always have to fall for the “guy that is bad for us”.

  10. LITERALLY. Please i just finished watching today and the ending was amazing. I was hoping that there would come a seison two because I personally LOVE IT so much! I am gonna cry, like really this was the best k-drama i’ve ever watched in my whole life like please. This can not end like this, there has to be more like we are only at the beginning of Ji-wan and Son’s relationship and the real beginning of Na-bi and Joe-oen’s to. Hopefully when the new seison comes out if it does Joe-oen will maybe try his best bc he looks like he really fell in love. Please i need this!

  12. you literally don’t understand how much in need i am of a season 2. not because of the main leads, and let’s ALL be fr. plenty of people only watched the show for soljiwan, so honestly JTBC needs to either give them their own spin-off show OR make a season 2. i need to see more than just the same scenes of my favorite lesbian couple being absolutely adorable.

  15. I need season 2 of this, I’ve watched the whole episodes 3x🤦‍♀️ and I’ll probably watch more ,I kept missing their faces together, the chemistry is so strong, and their acting is superb👌👌👌 please make a season 2🙏🙏🙏

  16. I don’t know why the ratings declined with respect to Nevertheless. The acting was supberb and the plot kept you guessing to the end. In fact, I watched it twice. I absolutely love the way the drama ended. Even though I loved the acting very much and the story line, I would be very sad to see an ending other than this in a season 2.

  17. I like the way the drama ends and I would not want them to be apart again. That is why I don’t want there to be a season 2. The acting is so great and each of the lead actors are so beautiful together. I don’t know if I could watch a season 2.
