Renewed Or Cancelled?
The latest sport drama to hit streaming is Mr Throwback, a six part series chock full of comedy and drama. If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or canceled. Here’s what we know:
What is Mr. Throwback about?
Mr Throwback follows an unfortunate memorabilia salesman who hopes to find forgiveness by reconciling with NBA legend Steph Curry, a teammate from his sixth-grade years.
Has Mr Throwback been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing Mr Throwback has not been renewed for season 2. Generally Peacock would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made.
So far, Mr Throwback has had a pretty good reaction from critics and audiences alike, with many enjoying the story and the pacing.
Given the way this show is set up, we’re predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. The series has plenty of potential but it also feels more like a one-and-done deal than a continuous series.
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not greenlit a sequel just yet. The conclusion does open things up for a follow-up though but as mentioned above, that seems unlikely.
If this one is renewed, we’ll likely see familiar characters return, along with plenty of humour and drama for good measure.
For now though, we’ll be counting down the days until season 2… if Peacock renew this one!
