Has Exception been renewed for Season 2? Here’s what we know:

Renewed Or Cancelled?

Exception is the latest sci-fi anime, complete with divisive CGI animation throughout. However, the story is pretty good and certainly has enough twists and turns along the way to keep you watching.

After finishing all the episodes, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:

What is Exception about?

The story is pretty straightforward but it takes on extra layers of depth as the episodes tick by. The gist of it is that humanity has been driven from Earth and forced to repopulate somewhere else. Members of a scouting team are sent out to search for a planet suitable for terraforming, and have set their sights on Planet X-10.

The crew, copies of their original humans created through a biological 3D printer, emerge from “the Womb” to complete their mission. Unfortunately, one among them comes out misprinted and deformed, becoming animalist and threatening the whole project. Will the team manage to stop this monster? Or will they all die in the dark recesses of space?

We have extensive coverage of Exception across the site, including an ending explained and a full season review. You can find that HERE!

Has Exception been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Exception has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s content, that could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix.

Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.

So far, Exception has had a pretty mixed reception with critics and audiences, with the show currently doing okay on Netflix but not hitting the top 10, at least not in the US or the UK.

However, given the show has been billed as a limited series and the story is pretty much done, we’re predicting that Exception will not be renewed for a second season. This is the perfect sort of show to binge through but the story does come to a rounded conclusion at the end, even if there are a couple of loose ends.

We’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!

What we know about season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. However, one could argue there’s not much to explore next season.

The ending essentially saw the mission a success, with humanity arriving and taking over, ready to lay down roots after the clones managed to make Planet X-10 habitable.

As mentioned above, we predict that this will not be renewed but we’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though!

Però mi è piaciuta davvero molto, bravi i suoi creatori!

  2. HELL yeah I’d watch de second season although there’s not much to keep going on with. I mean, humanity has already landed on Planet X-10 so, and the crew who made that possible (except for both Patties) are dead so… I guess I’m satisfied. Would I watch the second season if it gets to be released? Sure.
