Dopesick is a hard-hitting Hulu series, spread across 10 episodes that tackle the opioid crisis in America. With great acting and a twisty timeline jumping back and forth, this is definitely one of the best series of 2021.
What is Dopesick about?
Dopesick focuses on the epicenter of America’s struggle to control the Opioid epidemic. It focuses on Purdue Pharma and their upcoming new drug, OxyContin. As they push for the drug to be used across the country, a struggle to push back against Big Pharma ensues.
Dopesick tackles the crisis from all walks of life, including lawyers, government agents and Purdue’s executives. The timeline jumps back and forth between the late 90’s and early 2000’s while this is going on, with plenty of drama along the way.

Has Dopesick been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Dopesick has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of this story, based on the book of the same name, it would appear that this will remain as a singular season, given the conclusive nature of the final episode.
However, there is still space to explore different stories surrounding Opioids so it could well be that Dopesick becomes an anthology series of sorts, with new characters and ideas. A good example of a show that does this would be something like American Crime Story.
Despite strong critical and audience reception, we predict that Dopesick will not be renewed. However, we’ll be sure to update this section with more details over the coming weeks and months if that changes!
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Hulu haven’t announced whether this has been renewed or not.
This lack of information makes it incredibly difficult to draw any sort of conclusion. However, as mentioned earlier if this is renewed, we’d expect the show to take on an anthological identity, with a different drug explored.

it shall run as a docementary series with more seasons, as the maker already said “if it goes on, it’ll tell about other drucks and stuff, but not oxycontin again, as they have said all what’s there to say about oxy! So also drug-addicted who are here because they are in rehab and bak everyone shall know about it and them. First not everyone shall know about nowadays addicted, only about the drug mishandheld and misused by pharma likewise purdue and co.
Also I hope to see a docu about Bayer and Monsanto, likewise they are more hellish as purdue was, why? because the poison anyone who is eaten stuff, normal food! And eaten poisoned food is much worse as taking blindly a med, only because the doc had said so. Sorry for this writing don’t mean harm to any addicted, but whelp poisoned food is much worse as meds, because everyone eats it! also babys!
I once had a wormcure for my tomcat, which had to be applied to the neck, I only saw the name of the worm cure, nowhere did it say which company was behind it. This worm treatment caused my cat the worst and most extreme chemical burns, even though I had rinsed it off with clear water within 1-2 hours to protect my cat from it. It started with all the hair on his neck falling out in clumps, then the skin showed signs of acid burns, it was extremely red, the top layer of skin was peeling off and there was bleeding in places and blisters!
It took months for the spot to look better again, and it was only after 3-4 years that he had absolutely no more damage from it! up to 3-4 years these chemical burns appeared again and again and disappeared again! When I filed a complaint with my vet and said that it was already on the internet that these problems were known to and from dog owners regarding the drug, I thought it was outrageous that my cat who already had leukemia had been prescribed this. The vet told me right away that he would take the product out of his range and thanked me for this feedback.
oxy isn’t all, and that still happens, all pharmaceutical company only thinking about money, not more and not less! our and any health don’t matter to them! And there is plenty than enough stuff to be told in any docu movie/series!
This is one of the best shows to come along in many years and I think it will go forward as a landmark documentary. Michael Keaton is excellent. Perhaps an idea is that he visits someone in another state (a friend who is a physician) and sees the problems there that haven’t been alleviated by the lawsuit against Purdue Pharma. Perhaps someone creating black market drugs based on the Purdue Pharma formulation of the pills.
It’s a great show and definitely needs a season 2!!! Ppl need to know about this!! I am a recovery addict. And they need to know the truth.. that it will and can happen to anyone anywhere

Maybe it’s time for our government, producers of the show, film makers, etc!!! To stop being threatened and or taking monetary gain and expose what is now and has been happening for decades now and really expose Purdue Pharma!! Y’all started to really show the American people what really started the Opiate crisis in the United States. So please finish what you started and expose the truth. We the American people deserve to know what has not only killed so many of our people but has completely destroyed so many families and filled our prisons (for monetary gain) ex: private prisons for profit.. but has created a Epidemic that has spiraled so far out of control. That our government has no idea how to handle it. So please for the sake of all of the dead and broken families stop being afraid of the recoil and finish what you started. Just think… the more you say nothing and expose nothing the more people die, more families broken, more children grow up without parents and only god know what is happening and or happened to them in foster care. How do you sleep at night knowing the truth but yet keep it hidden?? Imagine if was you or your son or daughter mom dad or loved ones that have been so deeply affected by this matter. I’m sure you would take a completely different stand. So I beg you please stand up and fight for what is right and expose the truth!! This has been going on for far to long.

Best show I have seen in very long time. I think it hits home to a crisis in our own backyards. Too bad it only had 1 season! Makes one think Big Pharma didn’t like it and a shame to take down a series that needs to be seen for the truth! Not a happy camper!
I loved this show. I would like to see Purdue Pharma go all the way down. I would like to see them make little to no money from OxyContin. I would like to see the drug regulated and prescribed safely for severe pain and necessary opioid use. Please, please renew!!!
