Delhi Crime is a gripping crime thriller from Netflix that focuses on the lives of the Delhi Police led by a female Deputy Commissioner. The second season premiered on August 26th, two years after the success of Season 1.
If you’ve finished watching this season, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Delhi Crime about?
The Netflix Original show Delhi Crime is an Indian crime thriller based on real-life events that narrate the story of how the Delhi Police Force solved two complex cases that put the entire state of Delhi as well as India, as a country in a fix.
The show is written and directed by Richie Mehta and stars actors Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain and Rajesh Tailang in the lead roles.
The first season of Delhi Crime through its 7 episodes followed the aftermath of the 2012 Delhi Gang Rape case – also known as the Nirbhaya case.
The second season, clocking in at 5 episodes, premiered in 2022 highlights the nature of gruesome crimes committed against the elderly by a group of criminals dubbed as the Kachcha Baniyan gang.
The first season of Delhi Crime bagged an International Emmy Award for an Outstanding Drama Series in September of 2020 becoming the first Indian series to win an award at the show.
Has Delhi Crime been renewed for season 3?
At the time of writing, Delhi Crime has been renewed for a third season according to Lifestyle Asia Hong Kong.
What we know about Season 3 so far:
Barely anything is known about Season 3 at this point.
Viewers received a hint in the form of a phone call between DCP Vartika Chaturvedi and CP Kumar Vijay which makes one believe that there is a new season of the show in the works. It is likely that for Season 3, the core team led by Shefali Shah’s character could work on more complicated crimes in the region she is transferred at.
However, since the core of the show is set in Delhi, Vartika’s transfer to a remote location could also mean that there is no more left to the story turning tables on the viewers altogether.
Expect this to be the crux of season 3, with there likely to be another 5-7 episodes to devour. We’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though!

I love this series if Netflix can waste 100million of its fans money on Megan & Harry’s crap story..Surely they can give us a really good season 3 even a season 4 of DEHLI CRIME

Excellent show, taut procedural, developing characters, with the fascinating setting of gritty Delhi. This is as close as I will ever get to experiencing life in urban India.

Outstanding show. Unlike many American dramas this one uses actors that look like real people, not fashion plates from Hollywood. The stories, interpersonal dynamics of the lives of the cops and true to real life situations give depth and meaning to the events that take place on screen. A great show. I hope there will be a season 3. BTW my wife and I are fans with brains.
