Renewed Or Cancelled?
If you’re a fan of Cobra Kai, the spin-off series to The Karate Kid movies that were released back in the 1980s, you are probably hoping for a sixth season of this popular show.
But has Cobra Kai been renewed for Season 6? Or have the chances of another season been beaten into submission by the Netflix powers-that-be?
Here’s what we know at the time of writing:
What happened in Cobra Kai Season 5?
We won’t go into major plot specifics in case you haven’t seen Season 5 yet. But as a basic rundown of the plot, we will tell you that Johnny and Daniel finally became friends (of a sort) and they teamed up to take down the new head of Cobra Kai, the merciless Terry Silver. Elsewhere, we caught up with John Kreese in prison where he seemingly started to become a better person.
Did Kreese turn over a new leaf? Did Johnny and Danny take Silver down? Were there any episodes where ass-kicking didn’t take place?

Will Cobra Kai get a sixth season?
Netflix have now officially made a decision over the karate action thriller…and it’s good news! The show has officially been renewed for a sixth and final season, which will likely drop sometime at the end of this year or early 2024.
In an interview with Variety, Hurwitz said this about Season 6:
“We have more story to tell; we’re still figuring out the specifics of that. We’re in the midst of filming another series that we created and are showrunning called “Obliterated” for Netflix, which is another passion project of ours… After a long day shooting “Obliterated,” the talk turns to “Cobra Kai” very frequently. There’s plenty in store, lots of thoughts going forward. There’s a lot we want to do with these characters and we’re giddy about that next step.”
Hurwitz’s comments have certainly gone down well and there’s even an official announcement video too!
What could happen in Cobra Kai Season 6?
SPOILER ALERT!!!
If you have seen Season 5, you will know that it ended on a positive note. Robby and Miguel became friends, Johnny discovered he was about to become a dad again, and Silver got his comeuppance.
On a less positive note, Kreese went into full-psycho mode and escaped from prison!
What does this mean for Season 6? We don’t know exact plot details at present but the series co-creators hinted at a few possible plot threads in the Variety article. This included a discussion on Kreese and how he might impact the season. Schlossberg said:
Meanwhile, there’s the ultimate Cobra Kai snake out there that is really pissed off at everybody right now. We’ll see if life goes on easy in Season 6, or if Kreese has something to say. Something tells me that it’s going to be the latter.
Heald talked about Johnny and the next steps in his journey. He said:
The fact that there is a baby on the way is certainly a crucial piece of growth for Johnny Lawrence and a big evolutionary leap for his relationship with Miguel, Robby and Carmen.
The team also speculated about life outside of the Valley for the karate-loving teens with a hint that they might take part in the International Karate Tournament.

Well let me start by saying I’m a huge fan and love that they made a series now and that’s even better it’s so great to see all the old characters and where you’re making everybody and are twined with each other hopefully you can bring kumiko be Include it somehow and also hopefully you could maybe bring Jackie Chan in the mix somehow that would be awesome But either way you go I know I’ll be watching watching can’t wait for season 6 and upcoming seasons there’s so many directions you could go I need directions to the go can’t wait
I agree with the comment from Jerry 100% and also agree about wanting Barnes to team up with the other 3. I can also see kreese forming a alliance with the villain from the 4th movie. Would be a good way to bring Hillary Swank back plus maybe her boyfriend in the movie who she had shown later the karate she was taught. All in all to some it up there is still way to many unfinished stories and characters to still bring in. So really hoping for season 6 plus maybe a season 7&8 depending on how the story is written and extended out. Was a fan of the movies and now of the series. I think making a series was genius. Looking forward to any updates.
Have it to work crease and silver is in prison and silver kills Chris and Chris get her sober gets out and tries to kill the Russo and Johnny and Lawrence saves him with all the help of his friends

Loved the series that I ended up watching all 5 season’s in 3 day’s straight not to mention I started from the Karate Kid 1,2 and 3.
Excited for the season 6 and/or 7 perhaps? cuz there is still a lot of room to grow on this series and for example:
1.They hasn’t revealed yet the technique on the scroll Chozen gave to Daniel.
2.Johnny Lawrence becoming a father again
3.The Sekai Taikai
4. The former Cobra Kai’s like Kenny and the gang? will they join Miyagi-do?
5. Chozen and Kumiko
6. Will they revive Hillary Swank from the Next Karate Kid movie?
7. John Kreese, what’s his plan now that he’s a fugitive?
And a lot more!
Definitely want season 6 and many more to see. Absolutely fantastic, was great seeing All the characters come together again. Would like to see kreese team up with jonny and daniel.
Every season was mind blowing.

when is cobra kai s6 being released
I would like to see Kreese teaming with the villain from the Fourth movie the Next Karate Kid and new Cobra Kai students, all old cobra kai students join Eagel Fang/ Miyagi Do. And a visit from Julie/Hillary Swank from the Next Karate Kid movie. There is much more to bring to the series and story. Have Mike Barns join Daniel, Chosen, and Johnny as a fourth mentor and teacher.
I would like to see Kreese teaming with the villain from the Fourth movie the Next Karate Kid and new Cobra Kai students, all old cobra kai students join Eagel Fang/ Miyagi Do. And a visit from Julie/Hillary Swank from the Next Karate Kid movie.
Why was Dutch never brought back? Will Chosen marry Kumiko? That would be a great location for international karate tournament. It could end well there. But how does Kreese fit in this puzzle? He is a fugitive now, escaping from prison.
Definitely want a season 6 and more after that. It’s been a tremendous success revitalizing all the characters from more than 30 years ago. Getting the original cast is something to take the hats off. As a true karate kid/ Cobra Kai fan, I’d really appreciate like to have many seasons in the near future.
