Has Bodies been renewed for Season 2? Here’s what we know:

Renewed or Cancelled?

Are you a fan of Bodies? The time travel crime drama sees a murder investigation set in four different timelines as detectives try to solve the murder after finding the same dead body in the same spot in 1890, 1941, 2023 and 2053.

Bodies Season 1 ran for 8 episodes, so surely fans are keen to see more from the Bodies time travel universe?

So, what is going on with plans for season 2? Has Bodies been renewed for a second season? Or have we seen the last of the mind-bending timeline? Here’s what we know:

What is Bodies about?

Bodies sees Elias Mannix (Stephen Graham) try to exact a deadly plot on the city of London, as detectives from different time periods use time travel to stop him. This plot comes about while trying to solve the mystery of the same naked body found on Long Harvest Lane in the city of London.

The timelines are as follows–1941 focuses on Detective Whiteman who is dealing with discrimination in the police department during World War II when he stumbles upon the body.

1890 follows Detective Hillinghead’s investigation, and 2023 is Hasan’s investigation into the mysterious dead body. She’s a Muslim woman living at home with her father and young son.

The fourth timeline is 2053, and Detective Iris Maplewood also finds the body on Long Harvest Lane. The twist is that the body is still alive in the future timeline, and this creates a season long conspiracy that reaches an exciting conclusion with all the timelines coming together.

Bodies is an adaptation of the late Si Spencer’s 2015 graphic novel, and also stars Jacob Fortune Lloyd, Shira Haas, Amaka Okafor and Kyle Soller.

Has Bodies been renewed for Season 2?

There’s no news as of yet on whether Bodies will return for a second season. It was originally envisioned as a limited series, but depending on the success of the show on Netflix, another season could be a strong possibility.

Reviews have been mixed, and the main storyline of the first season was very much wrapped up by the end of the finale, leaving the chances of a second season in the balance.

The creator of Bodies, Paul Tomalin, has come out and said they won’t rule anything out, but they won’t drag out the show just for the sake of it.

What do we know about a potential Bodies Season 2?

There are potential ideas that could be developed for a season two of Bodies, but if it does return, it would likely follow a completely different story. Anthology series are very popular in the current market, and could be a good way forward for this show. No official announcement on a renewal will be made until Netflix assesses the viewing figures.
