What is Bloody Heart Season 1 about?
Bloody Heart is the latest K-drama on Disney Plus. The tale begins with Lee Tae, the eldest son of King Sunjong, elevated to the role of king after the rebellion.
Lee Tae believes any action is justifiable to achieve his goal, determined to set out and rule as an absolute monarch. However, First Vice-Premier Park Gye Won opposes that idea. He happens to be more powerful than the king.
Adding some spice into the mix is Yoo Jung, the daughter of a noble family. Lee Tae thinks of her as his wife and as a result, her family becomes embroiled in a power struggle at the royal court.
Has Bloody Heart been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, KBS2 have not renewed Bloody Heart for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.
The ratings began with a 6.3% share nationwide and since then, the show has been steadily increasing, with highs of 8.9% during episode 14. The series has been an intriguing historical drama and fans have definitely been enjoying this one.
However, given most k-dramas wrap up their stories in a single season, it’s very rare to find these sort of shows renewed. Given this is also a historical drama too, we predict Bloody Heart will not be renewed.

What we know about season 2 so far:
Most Korean dramas are reserved to one season and with the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.
However, there is always the possibility that the actors return for a follow-up, although that is very slim indeed.

I strongly suggest the producer continue with season 2. The serial is Getting popular episode after episode. The cliff hanger left at episode 16 resulted in curiousity in the saga of the power struggle.
