If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Well, read ahead and we’ll let you know what we know so far about a renewal.

What is Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy about?

The story centers on the Kingdom of Metallicana which comes under attack from the Four Lords of Havoc. This party of villains – which include the ninja master Gara and calculating Kall-Su – are dead-set on causing destruction to get what they want.

In order to save the Kingdom, High Priest Geo decided to unleash a volatile dark wizard known as Dark Schneider for help. But then, this dark wizard has plans of his own. Will he join the Four Lords of Havoc or agree to help destroy them?

Has Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy been renewed for season 3?

At the time of writing, Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy has not been renewed for a third season. Given the ending though, it would seem this one sets up a potential for a follow-up to move into.

Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate per episode. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars). Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.

So far, Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy has had a pretty mixed reception with critics and audiences alike, with a big emphasis on heavy metal and some obvious anime tropes too.

Based on the ending and reception, we’re predicting that Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy will be renewed for a third season.

What we know about season 3 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 3 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel just yet. However, if the streaming giants do renew this one, you can expect plenty more dark fantasy, drama and heavy metal!

We’re under the impression that there will be a season 3 but of course, we will aim to update this page when more concrete information becomes available!

  3. I would love to see season three come because it as become one of my personal favorites for all time and as much as I wish for a season three I will respect if they don’t make a season three but it would make me very glad to have a next showing season and I hope we can.

    And I would like to see season 3 as well.
    If One Piece is successful with many episodes and fans, then it’s worth making more seasons for Bastard too! Heavy Metal Dark Fantasy.

  11. Omg! I hope so!! I need season 3 of Bastard. Finished season 2 in two days. Loved the old version and love and enjoy the remake.
