American Gigolo is the latest remake, this time adapting the 1980 movie of the same name. With Jon Bernthal in the driver’s seat, this thriller has been slickly produced and pretty well written. If you’ve been following this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know about a renewal?

What is American Gigolo Season 1 about?

The main story revolves around an alien who arrives on Earth with a mission – find the one woman who can help save his species.

Adopting the name of Faraday, he teams up with Justin Falls to try and save his planet. Only, in order to do so they need to save Earth first.

Has American Gigolo been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Showtime has been cancelled according to Deadline.

What we know about season 2 so far:

A second season could continue Julian’s exploration of his past, along with more drama involving Lorenzo, Michelle and Richard Stratton.

  1. Hoping the show is renewed. There is so much to explain about the characters Julian Lorenzo and Isabel. Season 2 could really be interesting how young kids are sold into the world of underground rich and famous of high class prostitution to people like Olga. How did she know where to find and pay for Julian. What about Lorenzo and Isabel. Makes me want to see more of the show.

  2. I mean I think everyone came here hoping to confirm more seasons to come. I love the show and can’t get enough! I could watch ten seasons right now. Very well written, the story is so personal, and deep, it brings you to feel close to Julian’s character, like he is a friend. I don’t know exactly how to explain it but amazing season one that I’m sure a lot of people enjoyed, and need more of. I think if they do it right, this could be a future classic. Please showtime we need more seasons than just the one! Start with season two and keep it rolling

  3. Feel sorry for people like Ted unlis . Don’t let his opinion ruin it for others he must have preferred more of the guys on guys than women and men . I really enjoyed watching this show. This has been a good story line my opinion. Looks like a lot people agree it’s tasteful and deserves a second season please renew with more great and longer episodes

  4. Lame transparent plot, ridiculously shallow and poorly written screenplay that was compounded by really weak/minimal/no talent performances by most of the cast. Laughable that Rosie O’Donnell was the most talented actor of the lot. I doubt this low ratings stinker will be renewed, but even if it is, I’ll not waste any more time on this soon to be forgotten series.

  18. I’m going to be very upset if this show gets cancelled. I look forward to seeing Jon Bernthal play the roll of American Gigolo. He is very believable in the part . He is an Incredibly sexy guy. The second season I would like to see him get back to work and leave that married woman alone. She’s neurotic and bringing his story line down just a tad. Let him do his thing the second season and I bet there will be a third season.

    On Showtime …. So sad to see it only had 8 episodes…. Don’t watch much TV, but this had me hooked, looked forward watching every Sunday night!!
    Kept you wanting more, excellent acting
    Loved how you keep the audience on the edge of there seats, I know a lot of people who are hooked and hoping we don’t have to wait a whole year for Season 2 …. Fingers crossed 🤞

  22. It is great sensual interesting show. There is so much more that can be done with the characters. Bernthal and O’Donell are fabulous and the supporting cast is superbly cast. Please RE-NEW. It is worth another season.

  29. This show is phenomenal! It’s brilliantly written and gives you and intriguing storyline of the original movie as to what brought the character Julian to this lifestyle. It’s captivating, sexy, and addictive viewing for those who desires a more mature type of programming. Jon Bernthal along with all the other actors in this series are masters at their craft. It would be a great disappointment if a second season is not in the works!

    Was not a fan of hers but she is killing it as Detective Sunday.

  41. I saw the original movie and wasn’t sure if I would like this remake put into a series. BUT much to my surprise it is one of my favorites. I only hope Showtime has the wisdom to continue on with this winner.

  42. Yes! Please give us many more seasons to come. This is the best show on television right now. I’m incredibly busy but I take the time each week to watch and it’s my favorite moment to look forward to. I’m sad it’s only an 8 episode season.

    The story feels real. The pain feels real. First few episodes better written and directed but bernthal is carrying its weaknesses. Its upsetting the right people who want the mare of eastowns blandness. People who love cinema are not upset.
