Has Alba been renewed for Season 2? Here’s what we know:

Renewed Or Cancelled?

Alba is the latest Spanish series on Netflix; a riveting, dramatic ride that perhaps outstays its welcome but remains dramatic throughout its 13 episodes.

What is Alba about?

“You can’t truly live if you’re afraid.” These 7 words perfectly encapsulate Alba, a series that leans into the after-effects of a shocking sexual assault. The story centers on a young woman called Alba Llorens, who is gang-raped by four boys. Across the episodes that follow, the series examines the painful reality of Alba’s life post-assault.

Alongside this, Alba also adds flashbacks to flesh out more of the story, eventually leading up to a big court case toward the end of the series. Will Alba get the justice she deserves?

Has Alba been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Alba has not been renewed for a second season. Given the ending though, that could well change. After all, Netflix has a really good track record of renewing its Spanish originals. Most notably we’ve had additional seasons of La Casa De Papel, High Seas and Valeria.

Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.

So far, Alba has had a pretty good reception from both critics and audiences alike, although given this one is stretched out to 13 episodes, some have bemoaned the story for dragging out its story.

Based on the reception from audiences and Netflix’s track record of renewing Spanish Originals, we’re predicting that Alba will be renewed for a second season.

We’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!

What we know about season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. The conclusion could well open things up for more drama, with Alba’s love life thrown into question alongside her anguished past.

If this one is renewed, expect the story to continue on, potentially with another 13 episode run again.

We’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though!

  1. I don’t feel like there’s a need for a second season. The last episode basically said it all. 13 more dragged out episodes is not necessary.

  2. No need for a second season. Pretty much the ending tells you what happens although I would love to see the two get 100years in prison. I hope Bruno n Alba get married and live happy. This was drawn out a few episodes too long, definitely once Hugo left the note and committed suicide that’s all the evidence they needed. I don’t need to see 13 more dragged out episodes. That family was poison and a disgrace because they had money, if you do wrong deal with the consequences instead of black mailing and giving money away, that’s why Rueben was out of control and to think it’s OK to drug women and rape them is insane. ☹️😡
I didn’t like that they kept getting away with crap n parents covering.

  3. Loved it. Feels like loose ends weren’t tied up well at the ending of Season 1 and Season 2 could finalize things.

  4. Hopefully there’s a 2nd season of Alba. My girlfriend and I watched Alba and they can’t end it with not knowing what happened to the boys who raped Alba

  5. I just loved Alba couldn’t stop watching it hopefully it will be a second season what happen to the guys did they go to prison a couple more love stories plus drama could come out of this I just want to see more of Alba

  6. So what could they do to continue it? Show Mercedes go to Bermuda (or was it Bahamas) and living there alone?

Show Toño and the boy living a pleasant life?

Bebo and Tirso living happily ever after? Would he fall off the wagon and start selling drugs again?

It looks like Alba and Bruno will return to Madrid and to their studies and live happily ever after.

It looks like Clara and what’s his name the local policeman will get back together after he returns from Houston.

These Spanish NetFlix’s from Spain have nothing but conflict; there is never a moment pleasantry (hardly)

Marta gets nominated to the Spanish Supreme Court and will champion women’s rights.
