Cha Eunwoo’s acting talent is going through a lot of scrutiny at present. However, ever since the comedy-fantasy drama, A Good Day To Be A Dog, there has not been enough chatter about the improvement in Eunwoo’s acting. The show sees Eunwoo as a school teacher named Seo-won with a phobia of dogs.
To make matters worse, Seo-won has a crush on his colleague, Hae-na, who is cursed with turning into a dog after she is kissed. One drunken night, Hae-na ends up kissing Seo-won which triggers the curse and every night, she turns into a dog for 6 hours. The only way to break this curse is for Seo-won to overcome his childhood phobia and kiss Hae-na when she is in her dog form.
Now that the show has been aired completely, you may be wondering if A Good Day To Be A Dog has been renewed or cancelled. Well, wonder no more! Here’s what we know about a renewal:
What is A Good Day To Be A Dog Season 1 about?
The show follows the story of Han Hae-na, a single woman who works as a high school teacher with a family secret. Due to an ancestor’s fault, Han Hae-na’s family has been cursed for generations making members of her family turn into dogs after being kissed. The curse starts at midnight and lasts for six hours after which they return to their original human form.
The curse repeats itself every night until they are kissed by the same person while being in their dog appearance. Drunk one night, Hae-na accidentally kisses Jin Seo-won, her colleague, and panics, persistently approaching him for a chance at another kiss in her dog form. However, to make matters worse, Jin Seo-won has a strong fear of dogs causing chaos.

Has A Good Day To Be A Dog been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, MBC has not renewed A Good Day To Be A Dog for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it is very unlikely for the show to be renewed for a follow-up season.
The show has a 4.6 out of 5 average rating on Google. However, the highest-rated episode of the show was the second episode which received an average viewership rating of 2.8%. The show also aired 1 episode a week, unlike other Korean dramas that air 2 every week. This also could be one of the reasons for the show to have received such low ratings.
Given that most Korean dramas only run for a single season, it will be surprising to see this show being renewed for a follow-up season. With all these things considered, A Good Day To Be A Dog will not be renewed for Season 2.

What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved for one season, it’s rare to find these sorts of shows renewed. Except for ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.), it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.
There’s certainly some scope for this to expand out and evolve though, and we could either jump back in time to see the more of Soo-hyun and Mak-soon’s romance. There is also scope for some more exploration of The Mountain God and Cho-young’s relationship. We could also see more of Sae-won and Hae-na’s romance or that of Yu-na and Woo-taek. However, that does seem very unlikely to happen.
However, since the show hasn’t been receiving great ratings which makes it is unlikely that this one to be getting renewed for a new season. We’ll still be sure to update this section when we know more.
