What is Truth Be Told Season 3 about?

Truth Be Told is Apple’s flagship crime drama series, now marching onto its third season. The show itself tackles America’s obsession with true crime podcasts through the eyes of its titular character, Poppy Scoville. Frustrated by the lack of media and police attention on young missing black girls, Poppy teams with Detective Aames to try and get to the bottom of this.

However, when Drea is found dead in a motel room and a suspected trafficking ring being the main cause behind this, is this one task too many for Poppy to handle?

Has Truth Be Told been renewed for season 4?

At the time of writing, AppleTV+ has not renewed Truth Be Told for season 4. Given Apple’s track record for renewing a lot of its shows, it’s perhaps only a matter of time before they do announce this.

Generally Apple and other streamers gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Shantaram) Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made.

So far, Truth Be Told has had a pretty mixed reaction from critics and audiences, with many praising the show for its topical themes but also disliking Poppy’s selfishness and the manner in which she uses people to her advantage.

Given the way the show is set up, we’re going out on a limb and predicting that this will be renewed for a fourth season. Why? Well, Apple seem to be renewing everything these days and we’d imagine the viewing figures for this are probably quite good!

What we know about season 4 so far:

Barely anything is known as season 4 at this point as Apple have not made a definitive decisions over the show’s future just yet. However, it’s likely that this will be renewed and it’s a matter of time before we get confirmation of this.

If this is renewed, expect Poppy and the gang to return and continue fighting the good fight, rooting out corruption and putting a stop to shady gangsters and politicians.

  4. I love this series, and please bring it back. From my understanding there were complaints of Poppy’s selfishness; my take on that is sometimes you have to be in order to get the job done. For some reason, people think that’s a bad thing.

  15. We have a watch party and catch up on weeks when the ladies and I miss episodes! Markus needs to hold his tongue… he always opens his mouth at the wrong time. Poppy is so insightful and we like watching her wheels spin and solve these crimes. Season 4, 5 and many more had better be on deck! Bring us our Popsicle, Apple+!

  16. My family and I love love love this crime drama! Poppy (Octavia Spencer) is just amazing! Her character is dynamic and Octavia rises to the occasion- every episode! The storyline is so relevant. We loved catching up on multiple episodes (mini binging) 😂. Apple has to renew for Season 4! Poppy will come after Apple next 🤣
