Renewed Or Cancelled?
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel is an empowering and well written comedic drama, with sharp dialogue and great characters. If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is The Marvelous Mrs Maisel Season 5 about?
Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel returns to Prime Video for its fifth season. Set in 1961 New York, the comedy drama follows Miriam “Midge” Maisel, in her efforts to find success as a standup comic with the help of her friend and manager Susie Myerson. Season 5 in particular sees her inspired by the mentality of moving forward–with the express goal of landing herself on The Gordon Ford Show.

Has The Marvelous Mrs Maisel been renewed for season 6?
At the time of writing, Amazon have not renewed The Marvelous Mrs Maisel for a sixth season. Given the nature of this series, that it is unlikely to change either.
Generally Amazon, like other streamers, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Amazon make a decision over a show’s future.
However, for this one we do know that Amazon, along with the show’s creators, have made a decision to end the show with season 5. There will definitely not be a season 6. Although there may have been plans to go for longer in the past, the delay thanks to the pandemic, led the crew to leave season 5 as the final adventures of Midge and co. This is also reinforced through the fact the series has been marketed with “the final season” too.
What we know about season 6 so far:
Nothing is known about season 6 because, as alluded to above, Amazon have not renewed this one nor will they change their mind either. Amazon have a pretty shaky track record when it comes to renewals but season 5 is certainly a good way to round things out for Midge, making sure there are no loose ends or annoying unresolved cliffhangers!

My work colleague told me 2 years ago about how great this show was, and I blew it off! Now my wife and I are retired, and started binge watching the show. Now I must call my former colleague and apologize.
A must!!!!!!’ To be continued.
No guns, no ear, no drugs,
No leftist wonk, just good humor!!!
Life’s humor. Honest humor.
Bring them back. !
I just found this tv show and I am absolutely obsessed with it! I love every character. It is so well written and I feel every emotion in this. I love how deep they go with it and how empowering it makes me feel. Thank you for such a wonderful show, but I do wish there was more of it to enjoy.
Absolutely unbelievable! This show is by far my favourite thing to exist. It’s makes me feel every single emotions there is to feel. The blue room scene with Lenny and maisel reminded me what it felt like when I first fell in love, nothing has ever touched me like this show. It’s beautifully written and filmed and we must see more of it!
I want season 6, and 7 at least. Cannot accept the final season. Whit all the bad shows out there, that I watched two episodes and quit, losing Mrs. Maisel will be devastating! One of the few, smart, inspiring and so freaking well done in any single aspect shows, and ending it so soon…?!
Shame!!!
Stopping at season 5 is a terrible way to end this series and doesn’t do justice to such a great show. The writers weren’t even given the opportunity to wrap up some of the loose ends and what we do know about the future isn’t all that great. Even just a two hour series finale would be appreciated. Ending so abruptly is slap in the face to the people who worked on the show and to those who enjoyed watching it.
Does Midge ever get on the Gordon Ford show? Ending the show with Season 5 feels like the last chapters of the book are missing. I love this show and want to see Mrs Maisel finally get her big break. This was not meant to end with Season 5!
Amazon you must bring us a season 6! Season 5’s last show left way too much unanswered. We have been involved and invested in these characters for 5 seasons… we deserve to see Midge’s big moment that catapulted her to her success! We’ve been on this journey with her since season 1, so allow us to be there all the way! We want to see more of Joel than just him in prison. Midge and Joel’s love story needs to be complete. We want to see Midge and Suzie reunited after being estranged. As loyal watchers, we deserve a better finale! Also, strangely they show their daughter in a therapy session when she is older and then we never see her again.
As far as show endings go, this one is the absolute worst! How do you end this series with Midge crying in the bathroom??!! We never find out how she got her first big break, we don’t know if her and Joel get back together. I guess we’re supposed to be consoled hearing all about Susie’s life.
Ridiculous that a show as good as this is not being renewed
There has to be a season Six. For that matter a seven as well!!! Beyond one of the best shows I have ever watched and I don’t watch shows. This one I had to. It had everything in it – wit, sarcasm, logic, lack of logic, grief, happiness, attraction, success, failure, moral lessons, lack of moral lessons, being human and the whole nine yards. It would be tragic to end the series the way it did. And by the way, I used to be a statistical analyst. Using analytics to continue or can a show is unwise. There is many ways that people or techs can fudge data or now in our decade – corrupt the analytics. Just to thought….. it takes heart to keep the show going – that’s where the real analytics are.
It’s cruel to leave the viewers hanging. I am very unhappy with Amazon right now. At least an hour long special to give us viewers closure. We all need happy endings right now!
A rare gem, xtremely eell wrtten & cast! So much mediocrity for comedy today.
Id love a Season 6, 5 does sew things up but felt like it wouldve done so more seamlessly if one more season to pack all info together.
Really?! The end of the series is Midge crying in the bathroom?? At least give us one more episode to tie up the loose ends.
One of the best! There should at least be one more season to end the season properly !
I really think there should be at one season or even a movie just finalise things a little clearer.
I was deeply disappointed when I realised that it had finished.
I want to see Joel and Mrs. Maisel back together, and I definitely want to see a six season. If not more there’s so many other things that can go over here. Somebody get those riders working again and make Amazon pick this up for more seasons of classy scenes and fabulous dresses and marvelous sets. Do not end that season five.
I loved it so annoyed as to me it has no proper ending. Amazon please give us season 6.
Thank you
Yes I absolutely want another season Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. This was one of the series on TV.
I love this series! I think they left season 5 unfinished and there should be more. I would really like to see more.
So very sad to see this end!!! Makes no sense to me. Great show, cast and content have made it a hit and gain a huge fan base since day one. C’mon!
This show was a big winner. Can not understand why they cancelled it when so many people want it to continue. A huge fan base
I would have loved to see a season 6! It seems like there should have been at least 1 more episode to show her success, instead of ending it with her crying & being turned down by Parr & Gordon. I guess the only thing that eludes to her finally achieving a high level of success is the scenes in the future, but even then she’s selling wigs not doing her comedy. I just really, really would have liked to see her achieve the success she deserves.
