Nevertheless, Justin’s hopes of spending some enjoyable and heartfelt times alongside her at his family’s cottage are dashed when he learns that his parents gave the property away to his stepsister, Maisy-May.

What is The Lake about?

Season 2 of The Lake explores what happened after the boathouse burns down. In addition to Justin’s on-again, off-again connection with Riley, the whodunnit investigation is ongoing throughout this season. In the season 1 finale, Maisy-May’s mom makes a surprise visit to the town and announces that she is dying, which is another topic of discussion throughout this season.

A decent portion of the audience will find the show relatable because it deals with a subject that is not uncommon in real life—the reconciliation of parents and their children.

Has The Lake been renewed for season 3?

At the time of writing, Amazon Prime has not yet renewed The Lake for a third season. This is not surprising given that the dramedy has only recently been released on the streaming platform.

While renewing a series, Amazon Prime often evaluates a variety of factors, such as how many people initially watch it along with the drop-off rates.   2. Loved this, watched it over the weekend. Season 2 ended of very nicely, but I hope there is another season to come. The characters play their parts very well. Love Julia Styles in this.

  3. I absolutely thought the show was magnificently created with all different types of storylines, and I love the diversity and inclusion that it added to the story. I definitely would love to see at least a few more seasons, so I’m anticipating, and I’m waiting with bated breath that it will be renewed.
