Renewed Or Cancelled?
The Interest of Love is an absolute disaster-class in drama… but that’s partly what makes it so good! With lots of romance, twists and visual symbolism, JTBC’s drama is certainly a surprise addition to 2023. If you’ve been following this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is The Interest Of Love Season 1 about?
The Interest of Love is the latest romantic K-drama, this time taking place in a bank. The story here predominantly revolves around three main individuals. Sang-su is a hopeless romantic and he finds himself head over heels for his colleague, Su-yeong. She’s busy supporting herself but ends up entangled with Sang-su.
After a date goes horribly wrong, Su-yeong loses interest and finds comfort in Jong-hyeon, a security guard who also works at the bank. Still, that doesn’t stop Sang-su from attempting to win her over.

Has The Interest Of Love been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, JTBC and Netflix have not renewed The Interest Of Love for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.
The ratings began with a pretty decent 3.1% share nationwide but since then, the show has been steadily decreasing over time, with recent weeks hitting around 2.6%.
Despite the ratings, it’s extremely rare to find Korean dramas renewed for another season. That has changed in recent years but given the sheer wealth of talent in this that are sure to move onto other projects, we predict that The Interest Of Love will not be renewed for a second season.

What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved to one season, it’s rare to find these renewed. With the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.
Having said that though, we have seen Taxi Driver and Tale of the Nine Tailed renewed recently, alongside Alchemy of Souls too. Given how steady the ratings are for this series, could we see this one buck the trend? Right now it seems unlikely.
There is always the possibility that the actors return for a follow-up for a sequel or a spin-off featuring the same characters but considering all of this, we believe this will not be renewed.

Es sollte eine 2. Staffel geben. Es sind viele offene Fragen. Besonders das er leidet und immer für sie da ist. Es wäre zu wünschen, dass auch sie auf ihn zugeht und ihre Probleme schildert bzw. auch die Liebe gesteht.
Jetzt macht es mich traurig, dass es kein Happy Ende gab. Bitte lasst eine 2. Staffel zu.
I would definitely like to see a season 2, I am a little disappointed with some of the cliché happenings(the walk in a room just as the other person is leaving). The lead actress never explains herself. She was supposed to call when she returned to Seoul. Four years and nothing !!! She’s so selfish. Please bring this one back to close up some loose ends.

I was so disappointed of the ending I was expecting for them to end up together since he suffer so much and love her he fallow her everywhere his love was unconditionally and never find out the truth that she never slept with that guy I was really sad that I dont t want to see a serie like this anymore unless you bring another season with a happy ending !

Disappointing. If it’s not renewed, the ending was horrible. If K-dramas only have one season, have some closure to the ending. Who wants to watch dramas with a beginning, a middle & no ending. I may have to reconsider K-dramas. I’ve watched several K-dramas only to never finish. Maddening. Finish the stories or lose audiences

There should absolutely be a season 2 with exactly the same cast, it was an excellent series and it would be great to see the story through to the very end ….come on Netflix, get your act together !!

Gostei da serie mas fiquei sem entender … afinal , falaram das possibilidades nao aproveitadas o que na verdade mostrou os arrependimentos de posturas e decisoes tomadas no passado e, que na verdade , um nao esqueceu do outro , que se gostavam de verdade e sofreram com isso ! This K drama was refreshing as it explored different perspectives/emotions that true love brings. It caused me to deeply reflect on my own experiences and the scene at the close of episode 16 when what-ifs were explored was particularly good and of course particularly frustrating to not know if ‘future happiness’ awaits. Please bring back for a Season 2!
I was too nervous and anxious to watch the finalé episodes 15 & 16, finally found the courage and watched tonight. Sang-Su forgot absolute nothing while Su-Jeong reserved her thoughts and emotions…. the ending confirmed my anxiety and left me sad, to say the least. A Season 2 is fitting… I do hope!
There’s so much potential in all these characters and a season 2 is definitely needed. Their future happiness is what the fans seek. I believe the cast is awesome together! I hope the writers will tie up all the loose endings.

What were you thinking??? I loved the actors but why did you have us so consistently frustrated one episode after another, just hoping the next episode would let us feel some relief. I kept staying with it but a new season had better let me out of this depression! Did I waste hours of my life? I wanted the lead male to have his love and sacrifices for this woman be rewarded. I so longed to breathe again and have the insanity stopped.
The audience was left hanging.. I think the majority of viewers want the main characters to end up 100% surely ended up in a beautiful relationship… Together forever & after.. 🫰🫰🫰
I would absolutely love to see a second season on the interest of love. The characters are very believable. They go very well together, and I want to see them get together. If they want to do a season two and they don’t want the two main characters to get together, then no don’t bother. I’m a sucker for a happy ending.
I enjoyed it but even if it’s done between each of the charters at least allow all of them to have move forward without all the heartbreak still. Maybe just one more episode (17)

I became very invested in the characters and their relationships. The ending is a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. It’s HORRIBLE! In this current world where fear and loathing take center stage more and more every day, no one should be asked to invest their time and give their hearts following these endearing characters and their story only to be dumped in an abyss of depression. This show went from a lovely much-needed vehicle of escape and entertainment to a sorrowful BLACK HOLE. This world needs more love…more happy endings. Shame on the writers. Shame on Netflix! If there is no Season 2 to show that people can grow, learn, and maybe even earn a second chance, then this ending is even worse..if that’s possible!

I enjoyed this movie thoroughly. it was definitely full of twists and turns; Situations that were unexpected. I really hope that they will renew another season for The Interest of Love. Hopefully they are able to recast the same actors. They are really fine actors.
