Renewed Or Cancelled?
The Good Bad Mother is the latest K-drama from the cable network JTBC which is known for melodrama and comedy like Sky Castle, Run On and Doctor Cha. Well, this particular melodrama caught everyone’s eye for casting veteran actress Ra Mi-ran in the lead alongside Lee Do-hyun who is fresh off the hit Netflix show, The Glory.
Rising actors Ahn Eun-jin and Yoo In-soo who have been gaining more popularity since last year also make up the starry cast as peers to Do-hyun’s character, Kang-ho. A mesh of comedy, revenge, mystery and drama, The Good Bad Mother has taken viewers on an emotional rollercoaster since its premiere.
So, after watching season 1 in its entirety, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is The Good Bad Mother season 1 about?
The Good Bad Mother starts off as a revenge melodrama as the powerful and corrupt chaebol director, Song Woo-byeok and his prosecutor partner Oh Tae-soo get entangled with an innocent and peaceful family of pig farmers and ruin their lives. Hell-bent on getting revenge, Jin Young-soon becomes her worst self to harden her son, Kang-ho and make him a prosecutor through whom she will never be powerless again.
However, it backfires, as he turns into a cold and ruthless prosecutor, just like Tae-soo and distances himself from his mother. But in a twisted turn of events, an accident causes Kang-ho to become invalid and lose his memories. Considering it a second chance, Young-soon does her best to take care of her son and also mend their relationship which leads to hijinks and chaos.

Has From The Good Bad Mother been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, The Good Bad Mother has not been renewed for a second season.
While the K-drama industry is changing its format, we are yet to see multiple-season shows as a norm. Sure, dramas like Dr. Romantic and Taxi Driver appear to be an exception thanks to their roaring success but it is unlikely that we will get The Good Bad Mother season 2 at the moment, especially since JTBC K-drama sequels are quite rare.
What we know about season 2 so far:
If we do get a season 2 for The Good Bad Mother, it would be interesting to see a prequel, based on the life of a young Young-soon. With her ability to change from a doting and loving woman to a bad mother for the sake of the end result, it will be interesting to see her past and what made her the way she is.
But if the writers want to take mercy on us, we wouldn’t mind if the K-drama takes a light-hearted route with a sequel that follows the lives of our Jouri favourites after the big mystery is resolved in season 1.
