What is The Fiery Priest Season 2 about?

The K-drama picks up 5 years later with our Gudam crew reuniting once again when Kim Hae-il aka Father Michael disappears. Our fiery priest has set his sights on a new drug scandal in Busan after little Sang-yeon becomes a target. But he refuses help since it is dangerous and involves rival cartels warring with each other. 

Of course, that is not going to stop his group as they decide to join him in taking down the Busan drug trafficking ring once and for all. And this time, a new face joins them – the no-nonsense and brash Koo Ja-yeong. Meanwhile, Kim Hong-sik is the mysterious bad guy who decides to unite the small cartels and create a drug empire in Busan.

Has The Fiery Priest Been Renewed for Season 3? 

At the time of writing, The Fiery Priest has not been renewed for season 3.

While the K-drama industry is changing its format, we are yet to see multiple season shows. Sure, dramas like Strong Girl Nam-soon, Squid Game 2 and Taxi Driver 2 appear to be an exception thanks to their roaring success. 

However, there is hope for The Fiery Priest. First things first, it is produced by SBS, a network that is known for sequels such as Doctor Romantic, Flex x Cop and The Fiery Priest itself. So, if Season 2 does well commercially and critically, we might very well get The Fiery Priest Season 3!

What do we know about The Fiery Priest Season 3?

Not much is known about The Fiery Priest Season 3 at the moment given that it has not been greenlit. The case with this K-drama is that it involves a group of misfits working together to take down corruption in different cities. If there is a new season, it could again follow the Gudam crew as they find another bad guy to annoy and take him down.

Season 2 ends with Hae-il being invited to the Vatican. Kyung-sun is running for the assembly but the results are not shown. Hae-il is also seen taking his medicines which means his illness could also play an important role in the next season.

If the K-drama does return, you can expect a season with approximately 12 episodes, each lasting around 50 minutes. However, nothing is confirmed yet, but we’ll be sure to update this page as soon as any new information comes in.
