Here’s everything we know:

What is The 8 Show Season 1 about?

The K-drama follows 8 broke people who agree to take part in the reality show, The 8 Show for an exorbitant cash prize that can reach billions. All they have to do is stay in the 8-room studio for a set period of time that starts increasing for different reasons. But the catch is that every time they purchase an essential item like a blanket, the original rate increases by 100 times and is cut from the cash prize. The 8 contestants must cooperate and survive in the studio but as time goes by they realise that they may be trapped in there forever.

Has The 8 Show Been Renewed for Season 2?

At the time of writing, Netflix hasn’t announced the second season of The 8 Show.

While the Korean TV industry is changing its format, we are yet to see multiple-season K-dramas as a norm. Sure, we have multiple seasons of Netflix Original K-dramas like Sweet Home and Kingdom, but it honestly depends on the streaming platform and if Korean productions are interested in picking up the show for a season 2.

Netflix tends to look at views and drop-off rates before renewing or cancelling the show, along with the critical success. Some shows are instantly renewed like One Piece and Bridgerton while others take years such as The Watcher and The Victim’s Game.

Unfortunately, it seems that The 8 Show won’t be renewed at the moment since it has been labelled as a limited series.

What do we know about The 8 Show Season 2?

Not much is known about The 8 Show Season 2 at the moment given that it has not been greenlit. We will most likely not get another season as a limited series only has 1 season. If by some miracle, The 8 Show is renewed, it could turn into an anthology series with another set of participants taking part in a similar diabolical variety show. Or we could get a spin-off that looks at the show from the game runner’s POV.

If the show does return, you can expect a season with approximately 8 episodes, each lasting around an hour. However, nothing is confirmed yet, but we’ll be sure to update this page as soon as any new information comes in.
